First off, any time you see that image above this month, you will know this post has something do with Black History Month. For example: educational shows you should check out, or just little tidbits of info I think we all should know (and probably already do. but it’s always good to reiterate).
4-PART PBS SERIES..
African-American Lives is a 4 part series that PBS premiered last night. Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. takes us on a journey with 8 prominent African Americans (Oprah, Chris Tucker, Whoppi Goldberg, etc..) to research their family history. I must say it was very interesting and educational.
I really apologize for not posting about this sooner, because it is really a must see. It makes you want to start researching your own family history. It also presents different stories in this book we call BLACK HISTORY. To learn more about this documentary, check out pbs.org.

I wish I would have caught that. I’ve always wanted to trace back my ancestors. I think as African Americans were lost as far as our roots and where we come from and even who we are. I think there is so many secrets kept from us. In school we learned about the same piece of black history we’ve been learning throughout our years of learning. I think all kinds of blacks should be proud and interested in our history. HAPPY MLK DAY EVERYONE!
