NEW SERIES COMING IN MARCH ON FX.

I know I’m not the only one who saw the commericial for FX’s new series, BLACK.WHITE. Basically the show is going to take two “real” families and make them trade races. As you can tell, the white family will turn black and so on. There isn’t really that much info about the show, other than Ice Cube is one of the executive producers. This should be interesting though. Check out FX’s site to see the trailer.
I remember Oprah doing something like this like 5 years ago. I think she had white dude turn black for about a month. He took some type of pill that changed the melanin in his skin. Anyway, I’ll keep you all posted on this series.

wow…well…interesting idea. I remember the HIL-FREAKIN-ARIOUS sketch on Saturday Night Live where Eddie Murphy was white for a day. Should be interesting, its a good idea on the publicity level becuase of how potentially controversal it is. Only thing im not sure of ..is if the white daughter is really the black girl, shes the only one who doesnt look like she normally does..even though everyone is altered..i just dont believe her.

The White-to-Black family looks convincing but the Black-to-White family just look like Michael Jackson’s cousins.

This is just plain ridiculous. If I want to see black people in Whiteface, I’ll watch the Watermelon Man movie or the Oprah Winfrey show.

This seems like it’ll be interesting. Reminds me of this book I had to read in high school, “Black Like Me”.

I will definitley be watching this show! The thing is…it seems like the type of show that would be interesting for only like…5 episodes and after that its so boring and wack. But you never know, I can’t judge yet since I haven’t watched it. Maybe it’ll be one of my new fav. shows..who knows lol

I worked on this show, I did the casting and the production. I think it’s going to be really powerful. It was a trip to see how racist the world is especially to see it from someone else’s side of the fence!

Am I the only one bothered by the afro wig put on the white mother now turned black? The white daughter turned black looks convincing and I agree the black family aren’t convincing as white folk..especially the Mama. I mean damn did they do anything to her except for the makeup to lighten her skin?

This appears to be some negro-rigged shit. I am going really tired of trading places programs. They are stupid to say the least. Ice cube needs to sit down or come up with something funny not crazy.

The thing that folks keep forgetting is that it may seem nice to be another race or person for whatever reason (more rhythm, mo’ money or get a point across?) but these people can go back. Meaning Tyra’s (fat suit)not 350lbs and probably never will be. Eddie Murphy did the YT thing on SNL more than 25 yrs ago (Check out his Best of SNL dvd)and though it may have made a point (depending on how candid it REALLY was), he and Mijac are still Black! Cube needs to try for Next Friday 2 or getting Chris Tucker back in the Friday franchise.

Okay, most of the comments i see dissing this show seems to be from people who havnt actually watched it. This is a thought provoking and very intresting series. I dont get a sense that its trying to be gimmicky or anything. It really brings up issues that are very relevant concerning americas race issues. Oh and what is wrong with the lil’ fro “whoAMis” commented on???
i know a lot of black women with that same hair style! yall just looking for any reason to hate.

None of them are convincing (except the White daughter made-up to look Black). But this show does and excellent job of exposing the incredible lack of awareness and sophistication on the part of White Americans(most of whom actually believe we are “imagining” or “inventing” our experiences with racism). Black people really don’t need to watch this show to learn some profound sociological lesson–BECAUSE WE ALREADY KNOW. But it should be mandatory for all White people.
