Everyone looks real nice. I love Tracy Ross’ hair and Kimberly Elise’s dress, Star actually looks nice but her husband is the skeeviest of skeeves–leather suit?????? Kyla Pratt just isn’t cute. I have to shout out my Grey’s Anatomy folks including Chandra Wilson (Bailey)and Isiaiah Washington. I have never loved him as much as I do for the role he plays on the show. I don’t think the dude from girlfriends is gay. He was at the show with his girlfriend and she was actually pretty. He’s just VERY off center. You gotta go there and check out Kelita’s dress from Bernie Mac(stripper fit) Kerry Washington looked pretty but I didn’t understand the denim outfit to the awards show. Tracy Ross looked pretty but Jill Marie Jones looked a hot mess. Tyra looked fake and India Arie looked naturally beautiful. Supahead there was an insult to the show. She should have stayed at home with Bill Mohr. Overall though, we are a beautiful mix of people and it showed.

i’ll have to agree with all those who think superhead had no business coming to the image awards. really, what is she famous for? sucking off every low-rate rapper and producer in hip-hop? she’s only famous because of her trysts with them.

Please allow me to clarify. I said superhead at the “image” awards was an insult. Her “image” is just not one that needed to be present at that classy event. I’m not mad at her for writing a book and exposing the men that may or may not have exploited her, but to force the mayor and other notable attendees to walk down the red carpet with her is wrong. If she wants to go to the grammys or the VMA’s, more power to her. Walk their red carpet. But the Image awards have a reputation for being the show that is not the norm. Shaq at the literacy awards would be an “insult”. Usher at the chastity awards would be an “insult”. Ja Rule at the Best Artists of Our Decade awards would be an “insult”. And Superhead at the Image awards was an “insult”.

I was leaning toward agreeing wit Lala and ME (because I really do feel the same way about her as y’all do; not knocking her hustle at all–Girl go head and exploit them brothas right back!) but you are right that this is the IMAGE awards and we don’t really want to place her image at the forefront of black entertainment.

@ Original Sindee Yep she used to be a protitute, an actor, a dancer, secretary for the civil rights movement under Marin Luther King Jr. in Harlem, NY. She lived in africa for a while and worked as a journalist. She documents it all in her books. She lived a very interesting life. I have read all of her books from the front page to back I am an avid reader of her books. You would be very surprised to read about all that she has been through in her life. She is a wonderful writer.

I don’t condone or condemn anything that karrine steffans (superhead) has written, but the difference in their books to me is that Karrine has definitely exposed and dropped some names on some superstars and she’s making money off of it and trying to sell it as a ‘don’t take the route I took kind of book’ but then in interviews stated that she would do it all over again… just a tad contradictory but anyhoo that’s her claim to fame.

Maya Angelou didn’t focus on that she did too many other things in her life and came up as a strong sistah that was just a part of her past and I’m glad she wrote about it, because it shows that she is human.

As far as the celebs I think they all look nice I have to get used to macy wearing her hair straight. I liked Her napptural better ;). Also it looks like Rachel True relaxed a little sumthin sumthin too.
