I like the pleated shirts but thats about it…this collection is so formulaic. So stage like. Also the website has no flavor it looks like baby phat template that Kimora Lee uses. All I’m saying is thinkoutside the box.
I think Stella has the best designer website out.
http://www.stellamccartney.com/
And where are any of the spring trends besides the shorts: the prints, the kimono stuff, the oversized shirts cinched with a belt…all this short tight booty stuff is still to ghetto fabulous for words…why not bring some of the spring trends out with a nice urban twist. I thought Beyonce was the damn muse…..muse your mama girl…muse her.

At times I may use this site for entertainment purpose of course just to find out what is “supposibly” going on with the celebs but, I definately realize that the majority of the audience are teenagers or immature adults. There is no way that I would ever call my elder a bitch. And I totally agree with the person when they mentioned if this was a white designer that did not give a crap about black people, you would immediately buy the clothing. I think that we as black people must stop ridiculing and hoping the worst for each other. In so many words stop being like crabs in a barrell,(trying to pull one another down). Finally, I have a question could anyone give me information to sites that exploit the white entertainment industry something similare to this site because I am very curious to read what kind of name calling and low rating comments they have to say about their own kind.??????

Beyonce looks great….although..who are these clothes being marketed towards? Serious question. who? Cause the merchandise and the prices could be justified if this stuff was being pushed to lohanhilton-esque suburban types…but..in most cases this stuff will probably not get any love from the urban community…

^ I agree most of this stuff Beyonce don’t wear on the regular. When she’s not Sasha—she is wearing some pretty fashion forward things that incorporates what is poppin for spring and it has a nice urban edge. This feels like a dumbed down collection.
As for the comment about black vs white designers. I can only think of Tracy Reese her stuff is nice as well. But Mama Tina is not a serious designer. And I’ll pick a serious designer over somebody’s mama that got a whim last year.
Its like their concept of urban america is dictating the result. I think fashion should be a give and take. The streets should inspire but the designer should also be innovative.
This stuff is not for grown ass women. I don’t care if you’re Ross or Tj Maxx or Bergdorf Goodman. You can be fabulous on any budget.

I just visited the stella mccartney site and she had some pretty decent line of clothing but, are they designed for women of color(big boobs and big rear ends of course)and, I saw absolutely no black models. I did rush through the site so it’s a possibility they had at least one black model.

@ opinion
I never said that Stella M was the best designer for curvy black women (she has a website though that suggests she is serious about her craft) that would be hands down Diane Von Furstenburg (creator of the wrap dress) some of her stuff off the rack goes up to 16. Its feminine, its sexy. Michael Kors also comes to mind but he’s alittle boring.
What I am trying to say is why not take some of the spring trends and incorporate that bootylicousness into that—INNOVATE…any body can put some capris and some high heels on.
But I do like the pleated stuff…thats the only fashion forward thing I can find in this “collection”.
Its cool for saturday nights but what about grown ass black women who are making moves.

Has anyone noticed that Baby Phat, HOD, Roc a Wear Womens, Apple Bottoms are basically the same clothing? Their sites are pretty much the same. The setup is exactly the same. Check it out. They are all powered by eFashion Solutions. I think what’s happening is the same company makes all these clothes and the “designers” just stamp their name to them, and they actually have very little input to the content of the clothing. Just an observation.

Im glad beyonce and mom are making money, but those clothes are not worth the price. They just look like regular jeans with a nice stitching on the pockets. And those babydoll dresses are annoying. Unfortunately, jeans that are Bouncy’s cost and up fit better. I am not sure if her jeans are all that. But True Religion and Chip & Pepper fit me right, and they cost way too much.
More power to Bouncy. If you can get it, get it. I don’t care for Baby Phat and the others. Maybe I am too old or somethin’. Kimmora works my nerves; maybe that’s it. I like Russell and don’t know why he has her. Maybe it is because the bitch earns major dolla.

I have to say, I’m willing to pay for jeans that fit well. Because these other jean companies have been getting us for a long time and they are not even cut for the curves. Seven Jeans in particular which do a black girl’s shape well start at $128. The higher end like Diesel, True Religion, Paper Denim and the really fly labels are $198 to $220 and even higher. $96 is not bad if the cut and denim quality is nice.
HOWEVER I’m scared to try it!
I am still MAD at them for that $900 chinchilla jacket. That’s a “good” price for chinchilla…but WHY is it lined in POLYESTER???? Do you mean to tell me that not putting a nice silk lining inside of those jackets (which is what is usually done with fur coats)is what made the hundreds of dollars in difference?? Chinchilla…and polyester???
That was just TIRED, and I was through with them after that, if they do that kind of pointless jipping on the jackets who knows what they skimped on with the other stuff.

Im a dude and you CHICKS are a mess.
96 dollars for jeans is cheap.
If 96 dollars is expensive then you shouldnt
be online bashing BLACK MILLIONAIRES
but you should be stepping your hustle up.
Have you chicks ever been to Saks Fifth Ave?
or wait, NEIMAN MARCUS? If you shop at TJ MAXX
and all those half price stores then thats fine
lol, but dont bash 96 dollars for jeans
just saym YOU cant AFFORD it. There plenty RICH
blacks who spend way more then 96 for jeans,
thats cheap. And you chicks always hatin on BEE
maybe you gals should check your bank account and
post your income and statements on here
then lets ask BEE to do the same, then we will
bash bytches on who is the overall H.A.M.
I think Bee might win this one, being blk your
peers ENVY your success, baby phat and all that
urban stuff is cheap compard to GUCCI, D&G, and
LV, there white right? hmmm but then you clown
blk folks out there getting there paper, chicks
always say something, if the clothes were cheaper
you would be sayin ewwww her shit is cheap, i
dont rock cheap shyt, u can never win with blk
folks, stop commenting negative stuff about
successful people and look at yourself, cause
you are unknown, u not no LEGEND, BEYONCE will
go down in history, and u will get a 10 cent
raise, and to whom ever said something about
Solange being in the ads, why would she?

Yall want to scroll up and check “Julia_Claudine_Deveraux”’s comment about? FABULOUS OBSERVATION DARLING!!!
Listen, H.O.D. is simply selling Beyonce’s glamour– more power to them!
$96 is NOT a crazy price for jeans. It’s not the cheapest, but you have to take into account the group they’re marketing their items to. Young adult women. No matter what Beyonce or her mother want to say, they’re targeting women ages 16/17-30 —youthful women who are caught up in fashion and will pay almost any semi-reasonable price for cute things that fit well.
The are targeting women who go to UP AGAINST THE WALL and fine department stores and boutiques to shop and buy jeans for at least $75, $80; women who go shoe shopping at Macy’s, Saks, Neimans, Bloomings, etc., and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s a demographic that wants hot shit and ppl are stepping up to supply it.
That’s why it’s hard to hate on Kimora. She supplies cute gear for a lot of urban young women; she makes what she likes and young girls love it.
It’s not for all of us.
Beyonce’s line isn’t for everyone. Personally, I don’t think it’s that hot, but if it does well good for her.
Out of all the celebrity clothing lines, B’s is the one that is mainly selling her personal image. If that what she has to do to get girls to buy into her fashions, and these women do buy into it, then more power to her. But her prices aren’t that outrageous if you consider the demographic she’s targeting. Most of her fashions aren’t WORTH the price, but she isn’t crazy for listing those prices.
SeanJohn isn’t a low priced celebrity fashion line, but no one complains because it’s worth it.
If H.O.D. becomes worth it, then hey…I’m sure most of us won’t be complaining.
I have yet to try the jeans, but if they fit, I’ll be purchasing a pair or two.
– AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT SHE HAS STRAIGHT LEG, HIGH-WAISTED JEANS….they’re coming back! –
She does look great in the ads though.

Maybe these thing will improve as Tina K learnes more about patterns, material procurement, and surcing the line will look less cheap…but right now its a mess!!

As most people, I buy what I like regardless of the price(sometimes!) But I checked out the website and those clothes don’t do it for me. I think somethings are so OVERRATED, and truth be told, if this stuff didn’t have BEyonce name or face on it then we wouldn’t be discussing this. YEah, someone said it is affordable for Millionaires, if she is so rich, WHY In the hell WOULD I want to make her ass richer!!! I’m going to pass on this shit until something is appealing to me. I never liked wearing LArge logos and other stuff on me. I have noticed that the majority of RICH people don’t wear clothes that have Designers names on them. I’m saying besides the purses and shoes!!!!!!
I’m getting my mind right, and wearing whatever looks good and classy on me!!! Whatever the name….. but don’t get it twisted, I’m not cheap I’m just wise!!!

So true!
Tina does look really creepy. A lot of their stuff looks like throwbacks from the 70s… Tina must have watched one too many Pam Grier blacksploitation films.
Sometimes I wonder if they invested all this time and energy into Beyonce’s career (at least at the start) just to get a platform for Tina’s “fashions” (and I use that term very loosely).

I agree with “you chicks are a mess”. Though I could swing the price I just refude to spend that much on something that holds not value. I went to the web site and alot of it wasn’t my taste but I am not into cotour like that either. Beyonce did not say this is was URBAN line she said it was cotour…sorry if I spelled it wrong but that is what she says so it is a more sophisticated line. As far as someone saying that Tina is not a real designer I think that the wardrobe she has supplied these girls with through out the years shows her talents. I would by there stuff if I found something I liked enough to pay the price for. I laugh real hard when I read some of these postings b/c I car feel the jeolous and envy in what alot of you write. Beyonce can’t help that’s she’s rich, succesful, and famous. I don’t like everything she wears or does but I give her respect b/c for lack of training she is a true business woman who’s name will be around for a every long time.

Getting back to the clothing. I believe that Beyonce is too cute “makin it do what it do.” But, I was never a fan of her clothing b/c they never looked finished. Not well put together.
As a previous poster stated, it looks as if some of the corners are not right and some pieces look like they were put together with glue.
For example, I remember when Beyonce did the “Bad Girl” video/performance with Usher. That Gold “Solid Gold” type outfit looked pretty darn cheap and thrown together.
Of course I own Louis Vitton, Prada, Coach, yadda, yadda but overall, I am cheap. I am sticking to my GAP Curvy and Long and Lean Jeans. Hell, Marshals and TJ Maxx here I come. Besides the label…They look the same anyway!!!!

Bait and Switch!!

why is it that i cant find the clothes that are featured in the ads on their site? Or, for that matter… where are the clothes that were featured on Oprah when she had destiney’s child do the fashion show a little while back? i remeber seeing this blue demin corset like outfit that i think michelle was rockin that was hot, and i was like, “i want that” but now, on their site, i see none of the clothes that are in the ads or that was on oprah. like the lingerie piece in the second pick, or even the white short outfit in the first… its no where to be seen on their site! when i look at their site, the clothes look average and cheap…not the clothes featured in the ads, yet in the ads the items look fab and expensive… i hate the bait and switch method….

Many of us are arguing about $96 jeans, but how many of you all are investing money into your education or your children’s education. Why make people like Beyonce more rich when you live on a $25,000 p/y salary? Invest in yourself and your children so you too may have a successful career like B!

Some of the clothes on the site were nice. If I like it enough, I’d have no problem paying $100+ for tops and jeans.
Bey looks good in the ads but her mama scares me:)

For all of you so up in arms over the tone of these posts, then there is a simple solution - don’t come here!
Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, and just at some of you see nothing wrong with paying $96 for some jeans, some of us are not into label worship and TRYING to look rich by overpaying for tacky, ugly shyt. Non-celebrities who are rich, I am talking people with real money, are not into all this tacky, ostentatious materialism. It’s one thing to buy good clothes that are well made that you can wear for years, but why spend all this money on clothes just because of who made it?
Anyone with a credit card can shop at Nordstrom’s and Saks but we all know that there is a ridiculous debt problem in this country. I know plenty of folks making 6 figure incomes who are living check to check because they are TRYING to live like the rich and famous.
So all you defenders of this madness need to get a clue before you start trying to bash the rest of us who live in the real world. Yeah, keep on spending your last dime on clothes and shoes and see what will happen when your dumb azz is old.

“I know plenty of folks making 6 figure incomes who are living check to check because they are TRYING to live like the rich and famous.”
Sort of true, but when you makin 6 figures you trying to provide for yourself and if you have a family you trying to provide for them, but I have two good jobs,no kids, so I can afford whatever I please .Simply I just award myself and work even harder. You can’t tell nobody what to do with their $ . If you get in debt , your in debt. But it doesn’t mean other people will. And if you think I’m in bad credit I only have one credit card..I’m done.
