Both of these bytches have lost their rabbit ass minds. I would not dare pay $96 for a pair of fucking jeans. The shyt is not all that hot anyway. They were on Oprah talking about their shyt was affordable. In what world.

These 2 need a BIG HOE SIT DOWN!!!!!

I like the pleated shirts but thats about it…this collection is so formulaic. So stage like. Also the website has no flavor it looks like baby phat template that Kimora Lee uses. All I’m saying is thinkoutside the box.

I think Stella has the best designer website out.

http://www.stellamccartney.com/

And where are any of the spring trends besides the shorts: the prints, the kimono stuff, the oversized shirts cinched with a belt…all this short tight booty stuff is still to ghetto fabulous for words…why not bring some of the spring trends out with a nice urban twist. I thought Beyonce was the damn muse…..muse your mama girl…muse her.

At times I may use this site for entertainment purpose of course just to find out what is “supposibly” going on with the celebs but, I definately realize that the majority of the audience are teenagers or immature adults. There is no way that I would ever call my elder a bitch. And I totally agree with the person when they mentioned if this was a white designer that did not give a crap about black people, you would immediately buy the clothing. I think that we as black people must stop ridiculing and hoping the worst for each other. In so many words stop being like crabs in a barrell,(trying to pull one another down). Finally, I have a question could anyone give me information to sites that exploit the white entertainment industry something similare to this site because I am very curious to read what kind of name calling and low rating comments they have to say about their own kind.??????

I like the Pintuck Mandarin shirt on the site though….but I can get that style with the same workmanship for less. I mean even J. Crew and Banana Repub won’t have you paying $76 for that shirt….so yeah…I’ll pass.

Beyonce looks great….although..who are these clothes being marketed towards? Serious question. who? Cause the merchandise and the prices could be justified if this stuff was being pushed to lohanhilton-esque suburban types…but..in most cases this stuff will probably not get any love from the urban community…

10.

Wednesday, February 22, 2006 /

^ I agree most of this stuff Beyonce don’t wear on the regular. When she’s not Sasha—she is wearing some pretty fashion forward things that incorporates what is poppin for spring and it has a nice urban edge. This feels like a dumbed down collection.

As for the comment about black vs white designers. I can only think of Tracy Reese her stuff is nice as well. But Mama Tina is not a serious designer. And I’ll pick a serious designer over somebody’s mama that got a whim last year.

Its like their concept of urban america is dictating the result. I think fashion should be a give and take. The streets should inspire but the designer should also be innovative.

This stuff is not for grown ass women. I don’t care if you’re Ross or Tj Maxx or Bergdorf Goodman. You can be fabulous on any budget.

I just visited the stella mccartney site and she had some pretty decent line of clothing but, are they designed for women of color(big boobs and big rear ends of course)and, I saw absolutely no black models. I did rush through the site so it’s a possibility they had at least one black model.

12.

texasbornbaby

Wednesday, February 22, 2006 /

I’m straight from Texas baby, I adore everything Beyonce is doing, but sometimes people forget where they started, if it’s worth the price I’ll buy it, but those regular azz jeans, 49.99 should be the price.

@ opinion

I never said that Stella M was the best designer for curvy black women (she has a website though that suggests she is serious about her craft) that would be hands down Diane Von Furstenburg (creator of the wrap dress) some of her stuff off the rack goes up to 16. Its feminine, its sexy. Michael Kors also comes to mind but he’s alittle boring.

What I am trying to say is why not take some of the spring trends and incorporate that bootylicousness into that—INNOVATE…any body can put some capris and some high heels on.

But I do like the pleated stuff…thats the only fashion forward thing I can find in this “collection”.

Its cool for saturday nights but what about grown ass black women who are making moves.

Has anyone noticed that Baby Phat, HOD, Roc a Wear Womens, Apple Bottoms are basically the same clothing? Their sites are pretty much the same. The setup is exactly the same. Check it out. They are all powered by eFashion Solutions. I think what’s happening is the same company makes all these clothes and the “designers” just stamp their name to them, and they actually have very little input to the content of the clothing. Just an observation.

16.

Im glad beyonce and mom are making money, but those clothes are not worth the price. They just look like regular jeans with a nice stitching on the pockets. And those babydoll dresses are annoying. Also on any other white celebrity blog you will find just as much negativity. Celebrities are the people we love to hate.

Unfortunately, jeans that are Bouncy’s cost and up fit better. I am not sure if her jeans are all that. But True Religion and Chip & Pepper fit me right, and they cost way too much.

More power to Bouncy. If you can get it, get it. I don’t care for Baby Phat and the others. Maybe I am too old or somethin’. Kimmora works my nerves; maybe that’s it. I like Russell and don’t know why he has her. Maybe it is because the bitch earns major dolla.

I’m all for gettin’ yours while the getting is good. But they consistently design some ugly ass clothing. What is with the shorts set? They always getting ripped apart in the press about those ugly ass clothes. Time to move on to something new.

I have to say, I’m willing to pay for jeans that fit well. Because these other jean companies have been getting us for a long time and they are not even cut for the curves. Seven Jeans in particular which do a black girl’s shape well start at $128. The higher end like Diesel, True Religion, Paper Denim and the really fly labels are $198 to $220 and even higher. $96 is not bad if the cut and denim quality is nice.
HOWEVER I’m scared to try it!
I am still MAD at them for that $900 chinchilla jacket. That’s a “good” price for chinchilla…but WHY is it lined in POLYESTER???? Do you mean to tell me that not putting a nice silk lining inside of those jackets (which is what is usually done with fur coats)is what made the hundreds of dollars in difference?? Chinchilla…and polyester???
That was just TIRED, and I was through with them after that, if they do that kind of pointless jipping on the jackets who knows what they skimped on with the other stuff.

Im a dude and you CHICKS are a mess.

96 dollars for jeans is cheap.

If 96 dollars is expensive then you shouldnt

be online bashing BLACK MILLIONAIRES

but you should be stepping your hustle up.

Have you chicks ever been to Saks Fifth Ave?

or wait, NEIMAN MARCUS? If you shop at TJ MAXX

and all those half price stores then thats fine

lol, but dont bash 96 dollars for jeans

just saym YOU cant AFFORD it. There plenty RICH

blacks who spend way more then 96 for jeans,

thats cheap. And you chicks always hatin on BEE

maybe you gals should check your bank account and

post your income and statements on here

then lets ask BEE to do the same, then we will

bash bytches on who is the overall H.A.M.

I think Bee might win this one, being blk your

peers ENVY your success, baby phat and all that

urban stuff is cheap compard to GUCCI, D&G, and

LV, there white right? hmmm but then you clown

blk folks out there getting there paper, chicks

always say something, if the clothes were cheaper

you would be sayin ewwww her shit is cheap, i

dont rock cheap shyt, u can never win with blk

folks, stop commenting negative stuff about

successful people and look at yourself, cause

you are unknown, u not no LEGEND, BEYONCE will

go down in history, and u will get a 10 cent

raise, and to whom ever said something about

Solange being in the ads, why would she?

its beyonce and tina’s line. do you bring yo lil

Yall want to scroll up and check “Julia_Claudine_Deveraux”’s comment about? FABULOUS OBSERVATION DARLING!!!

Listen, H.O.D. is simply selling Beyonce’s glamour– more power to them!

$96 is NOT a crazy price for jeans. It’s not the cheapest, but you have to take into account the group they’re marketing their items to. Young adult women. No matter what Beyonce or her mother want to say, they’re targeting women ages 16/17-30 —youthful women who are caught up in fashion and will pay almost any semi-reasonable price for cute things that fit well.

The are targeting women who go to UP AGAINST THE WALL and fine department stores and boutiques to shop and buy jeans for at least $75, $80; women who go shoe shopping at Macy’s, Saks, Neimans, Bloomings, etc., and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s a demographic that wants hot shit and ppl are stepping up to supply it.

That’s why it’s hard to hate on Kimora. She supplies cute gear for a lot of urban young women; she makes what she likes and young girls love it.
It’s not for all of us.

Beyonce’s line isn’t for everyone. Personally, I don’t think it’s that hot, but if it does well good for her.

Out of all the celebrity clothing lines, B’s is the one that is mainly selling her personal image. If that what she has to do to get girls to buy into her fashions, and these women do buy into it, then more power to her. But her prices aren’t that outrageous if you consider the demographic she’s targeting. Most of her fashions aren’t WORTH the price, but she isn’t crazy for listing those prices.

SeanJohn isn’t a low priced celebrity fashion line, but no one complains because it’s worth it.

If H.O.D. becomes worth it, then hey…I’m sure most of us won’t be complaining.

I have yet to try the jeans, but if they fit, I’ll be purchasing a pair or two.
– AND I LOVE THE FACT THAT SHE HAS STRAIGHT LEG, HIGH-WAISTED JEANS….they’re coming back! –

She does look great in the ads though.

I buy alot of high-end clothing….and try to support black designers whenever possible..but the House of Dereon is garbage. Alot corners are cut…I see alot polyester, a aplique(i.e. glue), design elements that DONT flatter a black woman’s body, and just plan cheap construction.

Maybe these thing will improve as Tina K learnes more about patterns, material procurement, and surcing the line will look less cheap…but right now its a mess!!

Wednesday, February 22, 2006 /

As most people, I buy what I like regardless of the price(sometimes!) But I checked out the website and those clothes don’t do it for me. I think somethings are so OVERRATED, and truth be told, if this stuff didn’t have BEyonce name or face on it then we wouldn’t be discussing this. YEah, someone said it is affordable for Millionaires, if she is so rich, WHY In the hell WOULD I want to make her ass richer!!! I’m going to pass on this shit until something is appealing to me. I never liked wearing LArge logos and other stuff on me. I have noticed that the majority of RICH people don’t wear clothes that have Designers names on them. I’m saying besides the purses and shoes!!!!!!

I’m getting my mind right, and wearing whatever looks good and classy on me!!! Whatever the name….. but don’t get it twisted, I’m not cheap I’m just wise!!!

So true!

Tina does look really creepy. A lot of their stuff looks like throwbacks from the 70s… Tina must have watched one too many Pam Grier blacksploitation films.

Sometimes I wonder if they invested all this time and energy into Beyonce’s career (at least at the start) just to get a platform for Tina’s “fashions” (and I use that term very loosely).

I agree with “you chicks are a mess”. Though I could swing the price I just refude to spend that much on something that holds not value. I went to the web site and alot of it wasn’t my taste but I am not into cotour like that either. Beyonce did not say this is was URBAN line she said it was cotour…sorry if I spelled it wrong but that is what she says so it is a more sophisticated line. As far as someone saying that Tina is not a real designer I think that the wardrobe she has supplied these girls with through out the years shows her talents. I would by there stuff if I found something I liked enough to pay the price for. I laugh real hard when I read some of these postings b/c I car feel the jeolous and envy in what alot of you write. Beyonce can’t help that’s she’s rich, succesful, and famous. I don’t like everything she wears or does but I give her respect b/c for lack of training she is a true business woman who’s name will be around for a every long time.

Getting back to the clothing. I believe that Beyonce is too cute “makin it do what it do.” But, I was never a fan of her clothing b/c they never looked finished. Not well put together.

As a previous poster stated, it looks as if some of the corners are not right and some pieces look like they were put together with glue.

For example, I remember when Beyonce did the “Bad Girl” video/performance with Usher. That Gold “Solid Gold” type outfit looked pretty darn cheap and thrown together.

Of course I own Louis Vitton, Prada, Coach, yadda, yadda but overall, I am cheap. I am sticking to my GAP Curvy and Long and Lean Jeans. Hell, Marshals and TJ Maxx here I come. Besides the label…They look the same anyway!!!!

i’m not a hater. i am a lover of fashion. true fashion, not labels. i give props to bee and her mom pushing a real line. this line as we have seen in their video fashions are hit or miss. only things i will down in the line is: trying to reintroduce babydoll dresses (no no), acid wash denim and ruffles. this look is in the texas style. things are handled differently here. even though we get buck we do expect you to come correct when the time arises. and boy do we love hair. she’s raised in the old way of texas- you may be lowdown but you better handle it like a lady. lady at all times. a few of the long dresses i like, but i’ve seen them done before. from all the ideas they are trying to convey i think it will balance out in next release. Bait and Switch!!

why is it that i cant find the clothes that are featured in the ads on their site? Or, for that matter… where are the clothes that were featured on Oprah when she had destiney’s child do the fashion show a little while back? i remeber seeing this blue demin corset like outfit that i think michelle was rockin that was hot, and i was like, “i want that” but now, on their site, i see none of the clothes that are in the ads or that was on oprah. like the lingerie piece in the second pick, or even the white short outfit in the first… its no where to be seen on their site! when i look at their site, the clothes look average and cheap…not the clothes featured in the ads, yet in the ads the items look fab and expensive… i hate the bait and switch method….

For all of you so up in arms over the tone of these posts, then there is a simple solution - don’t come here!

Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, and just at some of you see nothing wrong with paying $96 for some jeans, some of us are not into label worship and TRYING to look rich by overpaying for tacky, ugly shyt. Non-celebrities who are rich, I am talking people with real money, are not into all this tacky, ostentatious materialism. It’s one thing to buy good clothes that are well made that you can wear for years, but why spend all this money on clothes just because of who made it?

Anyone with a credit card can shop at Nordstrom’s and Saks but we all know that there is a ridiculous debt problem in this country. I know plenty of folks making 6 figure incomes who are living check to check because they are TRYING to live like the rich and famous.

So all you defenders of this madness need to get a clue before you start trying to bash the rest of us who live in the real world. Yeah, keep on spending your last dime on clothes and shoes and see what will happen when your dumb azz is old.

“I know plenty of folks making 6 figure incomes who are living check to check because they are TRYING to live like the rich and famous.”

Sort of true, but when you makin 6 figures you trying to provide for yourself and if you have a family you trying to provide for them, but I have two good jobs,no kids, so I can afford whatever I please .Simply I just award myself and work even harder. You can’t tell nobody what to do with their $ . If you get in debt , your in debt. But it doesn’t mean other people will. And if you think I’m in bad credit I only have one credit card..I’m done.

For those that seem unaware Beyonce’s clothes ARE NOT Haute couture or Couture as people have been saying. Couture are REALLY expensive clothes that are made to order for clients. like juicy? that shit ain’t Couture, no matter what the label says. unless someone is personally taking your measurements and making the dress by hand, then no it’s not Couture. Beyonce’s clothes and a lot of fashion designers are prêt-à-porter with is made to wear. that said the clothes look cheap for the price. sorry.

Sharonda, if the shoe doesn’t fit, then don’t wear it. Why are you so defensive — did some of this strike close to home? Of course I can’t, nor do I desire, to tell any grown azz person how to spend their money. Still, I can comment on the idiocy of going into debt trying to floss while seeming to look down on people who live within their means and aspire to have more out of life than shoes and clothes.

I am a fan of Beyonce’s but personally, i don’t find anything innovative with the H.O.D. “couture” line. Most of those clothes looks very similar to something that I would find at H&m. I remember seeing an episode of oprah where she was introducing her line and the dress that Kelly wore was nice.

As an up and coming fashion designer. Mrs. Knowles designs are the same as I see on the other e-fashion solutions sites. And yes all you have to do is have the money and you can stamp your name on a label that is not designing! I regard her for some of her designs with DC3, but as far as this, it kills me that those of us that are working hard to get our names out the as a true fashion designers. I wish her all the luck on her label, but feel that she should try to put her “hands” on it more.

Some of us might purchase sevens, but i dont purchase for the name- it is just the fit. i will spend over 100$ for jeans but it has to look good and fit good i dont care who makes it. I personally think that we should stop worshipping celebrities by purchasing their clothing just because they “designed” it. I swear celebrities are goimng to start selling their sweat- and people will buy it..

let’s be real people, those clothes are not “affordable” @ $96 for jeans. who exactly is she marketing these things for? there is a commercial about this girl that asks her father for some money to buy some jeans that everyone is wearing. he goes online to check the stock on those brand of jeans and invests as well. i bet that is the same thing that is going on here. and the jeans in the commercial did not cost $96. society is a sorry bitch that determines your worth by the price of your clothes. my clothes are name brand. i’m just too much of a realist to pay $100 for anything, knowing about stores like ross, marshall’s and tj maxx. bills still gotta be paid, and besides the style should reflect the individuals, not their pocketbook.

logic

Jeans cost money in the fashion world. I own a boutique in west los angeles and for a good pair of jeans you pay from 100-300 bucks. i am not saying there arent great jeans for cheap. However if you were into fashion and new what lines are hot now then your views may change. I dont think she wants her line to be categorized in the BabyPhat, RocaWear, Echo type jeans. Those are “cheap jeans”. Quality jeans like 575 Jeans, Level 99, Yanuk, True Religion, 7 For All Mankind all cost 100 plus and the denim on most of them are great and so is the fit. Im not sure what was said on Oprah, but it looks like Beyonce and her mom ( who does look like she is running a whore house) are going for upscale , highend fashion. Look in any Vogue, InStyle, Elle, or highend fashion magazines and jeans cost over 100.00. If you are used to getting Rocawear and babyphat then it is just your fashion knowledge and also budget. Why does she have to have a brand name that has cheap jeans. That isnt even the image I would think she would portray.

If you KNEW anything about fashion and especially jeans you would know that 96 dollars is average. There must be some broke a@@ mothers on this site limited to only department store shopping and what they see on BET. If you want to comment on FASHION. Do what logic said pick up a Vogue. On some real shit, get off Beyonce’s tits…You said that ppl like to buy jeans from ppl like Ralph Lauren but did you forget that the most racist designer of all is that ugly ass Tommy Hilfiger and Beyonce works with him, so don’t contradict yourself. Besides, these “racist” designers make the best shit because they know their shit. Beyonce and her mom are jumping on the band-wagan like the rest of the celebrities designing clothes, using ppl like you and me to buy their shit and make them more rich. What the fuck do these ppl know about fashion when ppl dress them? Obviously they are marketing themselves to get paid. And the picture is garbage. I have no problem dropping a good sum of money for good quality clothes that are well-designed. This is stuff that you buy and it’ll collect dust in your closet. I’m hardly cheap by anyone’s standards but there is NO way I would pay $96 for some jeans that I know some 5 year old in China was paid like $1 to make with crap quality. Very reminiscent of J Lo’s clothing line and Jessica Simpson’s shoe line. Celebs: if you’re going to turn to designers, take hints from Gwen Stefani, Diddy and Bono. Stefani was creative and made original projects, some of which are practica. I love her “Color of love” print shirt which sold out really quickly. Diddy marketed his with a lifestyle and his stuff seems to be of the same quality as RL and Donna Karan. His style is a little to trendy generally, though I’ve actually been impressed with some of his women’s wear. Bono just came up with Edun and handed it to someone else. Proceeds go to charity and the quality is AMAZING. If I drop $150 on a pair of jeans, they have to be perfect on me and they have to be beautifully made.

HOD has tacky written ALL over it. I’m sure no one will heed my warning, but don’t waste your money. Frankly, I’d rather wear jeans from the Gap than those from the House of Dereon. The nerve! Armani, Versace and Chanel have the longevity and proven quality to be called fashion houses. It’s the worst name I’ve heard of since Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

122.

what?

Sunday, March 12, 2006 /

I don’t hate Beyonce’ or her mom. I think they are really trying create the best they can. I’m sure Beyonce’s is so busy she probably doesn’t have the time to really do much with the line. But for a new line I am not impressed with it because what they have on the web site http://www.houseofdereon.com there isn’t much of a selection. I’m sure the jeans fit well, but I don’t see too much designer contribution with the shirts and the regular pants. Nor do I see any accessories i.e.: purses-jewelry-hats-etc…
I don’t see how a woman from NYC: THE FASHION CAPITOL OF THE WORLD NEXT TO PARIS, could possibly create a cutting edge, top of the line, outfit from what they have put together. I see a lot of missing elements that are essential for a woman to have in order to have a polished look and still be fashion forward.
There are reviews from major designer experts that have not had much to say about her line. I have only read that H.O.D. NEEDS A LOT OF HELP IN THE AREA OF CONCEPT-QUALITY-OVERALL STYLE!
Sometimes you have to hire people who are noted for their creativety and their abilities to actually create FASHION. There are many gifted-young designers and older designers who could make H.O.D. very FASHION FORWARD and requested by HOLLYWOOD STARS.
If we are feeling this way just think about how the “STARS” feel about them. Too bad.

123.

what?

Sunday, March 12, 2006 /

I can’t see TINA TURNER-HALLE BERRY-TANDIE NEWTON-or any other great star wearing H.O.D. it’s too plain an there seems to be a lack of ‘STYLE’
When you see GUCCI you know it’s GUCCI. When you see CHANEL you know it’s CHANEL….when you see H.O.D. you aren’t sure if it’s H&M OR the GAP.
Also, most designers use there initials to signify their BRAND. I guess Tina and Beyonce’ thought that using ‘TB’ wouldn’t sell.
They could use double ‘D’S for DEREON LOL.
Who knows. I think the FASHION market is super saturated with novices……

damn it. dont you people get it. beyonce could care less about the quality of clothes or its fashion. she’s a publicity whore that thinks she will sell everthing with just her name. fashion is not her passion, she only wants the money that stupid people in this stupid society would pour on her cause everybody loves beyonce???right

I am so sick of celebritys who forget that half or almost all of their fans can not afford a $96 pair of jeans, if it were’nt for their fans they would not even be able to create a clothing line.

There is nothing that makes this line stand out from the rest it basicly looks like all the other
designers. Nothing thats makes you want to spend that much money for it.

why is it that we would spend so much money on any clothing item. we as the blacks are looked down on for wasting our money on such foolish things. why not take that money and invest in something worthwhile like your child’s college fund or future home or better yet cleaning your credit. there is nothing wrong with good quality clothes, but why pay so much. this not only goes for clothes but the 24 inch rims, gold teeth etc. it is time to start creating a foundation for our future kids when we die leave them a legacy and funds to go on not your debt and clothes.

I love it, I love how the stuff looks classy but has a edgy ghetto flava to it. You go Beyonce, and I bought those shorts she got on in the 1st picture. If you can afford it you can afford it, but if you can’t then you go shop at ross.

Not trying to diss on Beyonce and her mom clothing line but I was disappointed with it. First of girl denim jeans is not worth $100 and over, her shoes look like a spin of Chinese Laundry shoes and that is what turned me the hell of. If you are going to venture into a world of being a fashion designer create a line that’s not copied from so many other fashion designers be known for your “signature line” and not others. People feel that because they have money they can design, act and do other shit that does not compliment them as a person. Don’t get me wrong I will support our black business ventures the whole nine “only when the shit is good”. Maybe through time Beyonce and her mother will step their game up when it comes to “designing” clothing that has that “couture, kick and soul her mother stated coming from three generation of women. The only thing I seen her sport is her jeans and signature hat and belts. The shoes are ugly and 3.5 inches at the price of $100 and up; she needs to step up the clothing and shoe game if Beyonce and her mom expect their empire to grow. Other then that I will wait for her shit to go to discount places such as: TjMax and Marshals and pay what it’s worth and that’s 29.99 and under foreal.
