She’s not playing Aaliyah. The role has gone to the R&B Canadian singer, Keshia Chanté. All that stuff you people who first starting posting about this should be ashamed saying all those things about Aaliyah. I will love to see the movie. Aaliyah is a major idol to me. no one looks exactly like aaliyah..so ppl need to understand that whoever they get for the role, may not be exact..if she can just act like her, then it shud be fine..with some of aaliyahs looks and mannerisms…the dude from notorious looked nothing like biggy..but it all worked out..give it a chance..im sure the movie will be good
