As a child, Halle wished she was white

According to Starpulse.com, Halle Berry was ashamed of her black skin as a child, and often wished there was a pill to change her complexion. Halle also revealed that she is very insecure about her looks.

Halle Berry used to pray she would be “cured” of being black. The stunning actress dreamed of finding a pill to turn her skin white when she was a child, according to The Sun newspaper.

The 39-year-old – who was the first black woman to win an Oscar, for her performance in Monster’s Ball – is quoted as saying: “Being a black woman I’ve struggled with that my whole life – feeling that if I changed, my life would be better.”

Meanwhile, the X-Men star has also confessed she is insecure about her stunning looks – despite being one of the most beautiful women in the world. The actress claims the fact she is frequently included on lists of the sexiest actresses doesn’t changed her mind about her appearance.

She said: “Although such things do wonders for my confidence, I’m never able to take them seriously. If they really knew me, they’d realize that I’m far from secure about my looks.” [SOURCE]

We all have problems, from the Childhood Years, to the Teenage Years and AdultHood.
Im tired of hearing about Halle and her millions of problems, she is not the only person that is Biracial, or had a tough child hood or bad relationships with Men. Has anything Good ever happeded to her? If yes it would be a breath of fresh air to hear abut it.

Move on from your past HALLE ..MOVE ON

Yeah, I know where shes coming from. I grew up in north eastern ohio not to far from where Halley grew up. It seem like in that area, especially back in the 70′s and further back, that if you where black you were expected to be DARK skinned. Anything else and you were looked at as “fake.” Although, it never really bothered me THAT much I was always called things like “yellow,”and “bananna.” In the scheme of things one can be called far worse things than that. On the home front my whole family was light skinned so I never felt out of place their but I had an Aunt who was also light skinned black who was prejudice towards dark skinned black people. She would always tell me “You better not bring any black, tar-baby, girls over here or I wont let you in the house.” I thought her way of thinking was comical back then but now I look back and I am appalled when i think about it.” I now live in California in an area that is heavily populated by Hispanics coupled with the fact that I am CONSTANTLY being mistaken for Mexican. My girlfriend is Mexican and when we go over her family’s house or to any function thats predominantly Mexican, I dont even stand out and get any of those looks that we all know obvious mixed couples get. Sometimes I wonder if I would have just grown up in California where everyones USED to the melting pot and the hogmapodge of mixed races, would it have been better for me. To this day it seems as if the Mid-west is WAAAAY behind the times when it comes to getting used to and getting over the race issue.

I’m Black & Italian and as a kid I actually wished I was darker. I’m not too light, I’m like Mya’s complexion but I wanted to look more like my mom & her family. But as a preteen/teenager I realized light skin was put on a pedestal so I was fine with my skin from that point on.

i dont get it. she is talking about wanting to be white when she is. she is just as much white as she is black.

well i can understand what halle is comming from, but i don’t think biracial people should have to choose which race they have to classify as because when I look at halle berry I see a biracial woman because she dosen’t look black and sure do not look white so why can’t we call her biracial if thats what she looks like
