Do you think if the federal govt. continues to cut these prgrams that all young hispanics will be able to successful cross these obstacles?

At my first duty assignment. my first roommate was Puerto Rican and we got along great. When I went to base in Texas and the sister unit we were training were Mexicans, we got along great. Jones, Cincinatti, Ohio), awaiting a HEART TRANSPLANT, giving blood to a BLOOD BANK (DR. Charles Drew), going to a HBCU (white folks go there too),watching a RAISIN in the SUN, traveling in an ELEVATOR, studying MILITARY TACTICS, going to a SPOKEN WORD event, and I can go on and on. What Indians are you referring to b/c I hope not Native Americans b/c they were here before Columbus “discovered” America. BTW, Asians have been in this country since the 1880’s sweetie. juat want to add an overview, if you ever watch telemundo , or univision you will see that there is a major issue about color and class. the maids are uaually dark brown skin with black hair, and the woman of the house is usually pale and blond. Also on some of the sketch comedies the portrayl of Ceclia Cruz and other dark Latinos, is very crude and gutteral. So, do Latinos have a color complex, oh yes just as many other cultures. side note: you would think that Latinos would strengthen their cause to stay in the country by affiliating with another depressed ( Black) people. I also believe that the same people who are for deportation of Spanish citizens could, they would find a way to kick our Black asses out too. Which is why I think as brown people of African decent we should support our brown brithers and sisters.

georgia you are correct, however she started making PERSONAL attacks starting w/me THAT was uncalled for. That’s when her opinion no longer mattered. Everybody had an opinion about the pics, that’s where it should have ended. It escalated because of a blinding hatred she has of people on this post and made everything personal it should have never happened and it started w/her and her feelings over a celeb she doesn’t even know.

Yes, after reading the post to its entirety Tulips did start the madness. I agree even though TULIPs said some offensive stuff. However, TYLAW#1FAN did seem to strike a chord when he said,” Instead of worrying about Jullissa you should focus on trying not to get deported. INS is coming.” That was a cruel statement but instead of TULIPs calling black people niggers and minkeys she should have explained why this ticked her off. I don’t TULIPs but I’m guessing she’s of Mexican ancestry and b/c she’s located in Texas, which is a staple ground for the fight against deproting illegal immigrants. We as people have to come out of our comfort zones and interact w/others who we consider different. Let someone teach you and you teach them. Lastly, family life influences our outlook on life and sometimes it’s not the best influence but learn to combine all of your influences. It makes you a more well-rounded person.

GA Peach, let me just say I respectfully disagree. Tulips SHOULD be blocked. Not because she does not have a right to state her opinion, but because she does nothing but spread her hatred of black people on this site; repeatedly calling us “NIGGERS” and other offensive racial slurs with little provocation. Though it is her right to say what she thinks and feels, it is neither your nor my own duty to be subject to this kind of hatred and ignorance.
