wow, after seeing all the negative comments i don’t even want to ever travel to America again if people are thinking like that when they see me…
people treat me very very differently even when I’m with my black friends, i feel like I’m my own race , black people just don’t want to accept me when they first see me so its even waaayy harder for Sudanese in all parts of the world to have a normal life
its 2008 after a few years when Sudan is okay ( I’m saying this because the war ended like about 4 years ago) people are going to be traveling to America as refugees, families etc.

i never knew how beautiful she was (Alek), i am dark skinned myself. not like the dark skinned the a lot of light skinned ppo coin brown skinned ones, but dark. anyways i always had a problem wit my complexion and sometimes still do. i never thought being as dark as i am was ever pretty. nobody ever wanted to claim their true color. i say this to say, a lot of ppo often resorted into bleaching their skin to escape the color the god saw them best as. nobody wanted to feature a drk skinned person of woman of that matter on television. and when they did they always associated her character with being from africa. as an adolescent i never associated those two words in a positive way realizing that blk is truly beautiful and we all hail from that beautiful place. its so great to see alek doing her thing, over the years i have come to realize that blk is beautiful, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i am now 20, soon to be 21 and think believe that i am beautiful for one of the first times in my life.
