Beautiful girl, so-so song. Sorry, I didn’t think there is anything special about this song. First of all, its sampled. As a new solo artist, I think she should have tried to come out with a bangin’ ORIGINAL joint. I see some stations playing this song as a “filler” for about a month, then it will fall off.

They have two totally different styles: Toya’s doing the whole Houston chick thing, and Kelly is doing the whole R&B/Pop/Rock thing. TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Well, I’ve been keeping up with Letoya since she was so uncermoniously removed from the group 6 years ago. And from her pictures then and now and in between I will have to say she didn’t have a nose job. I agree that its just the make up because you can look at pictures from her recent birthday party at letoyaonline.com and see that she still has her Toya button nose. Plus, its been 6 years she’s a woman now. She won’t look the same any how. None the less the girl has talent and a personality (more than I can say about 98% of DC3 of today). AND it’s ALL true, The father WAS behind all of that CRAP and the L’s GOT PAID off that second album because Father Knowles was WRONG for doing those girls like that (And they were GIRLS at that time)

I am so happy Letoya finally has an album. I always wanted the members who were kicked out of the group to succeed simply because I thought they were unfairly treated.

The whole goal of Destiny’s Child was to make Beyonce’ as star. IMO, that is why she sang most of the leads. That is why everyone in the group at the time (Kelly, Michelle, and Farrah) had to change their names because in Tina Knowles words, “their names were too ethnic”, yet Beyonce’ and Solange got to keep their unusual names. That is why Michelle and Farrah had to go to tanning salons. The whole thing was to make Beyonce stand out to make her the star, and it worked.

I am also still shocked by how many people think Beyonce is such a great singer. Can she hold a tune…yes she can. But Aretha, Patti, and Gladys, she is not. To be quite honest, I really don’t think Byonce’ or Kelly could survive American Idol, and to think Beyonce will be in the history books makes me cringe. And let’s face something else….So many view Beyonce as this gorgeous beauty simply because she has light skin. Beyonce was never really no prettier than either of the other girls. But she is with one with the light skin and blonde wigs. That is why she has gotten all of those endorsement deals. If she had the same skin coloring as India Arie, or even Kelly, she wouldn’t be fawned over like she is now. That doesn’t mean she isn’t attractive, it just means in our community we are still phycologically screwed in our thinking that we find anything that is closer to appearing caucasion, is more attractive.

Back on subject, I actually like every song I’ve heard from Letoya and I am so happy for her. She has proven Beyonce wrong when she said in reference to Letoya, “that girl is tone deaf”. You go Letoya.

The only thing I dont like about this whole album, is that alot of the beats are getto, something a rapper would rap too. Its good though but Its different from what most R&B artist sing too!!! Torn should be close to no. 1 so whoever her promotional team is they are not doing a good job!!
