Race shouldn’t be an issue but when Taye-Taye was asked what other women he had a crush on or thought were sexy they were all white as well. brotha don’t know any fine black women (or men)!

This may sound a little odd because if Taye is happy then that is the most important thing, but I CHALLENGE anyone here to name 5 non-black celebrities (including the NBA, NFL, and MLB) with black wives. I can think of 4.

Now, can you name 7 or more black men that are “celebrities” with non-black wives? I can quickly name 7.

That is the thing in my eyes. Black men seem to be attracted to all women but it doesn’t appear it is the same in reverse toward black women. Black rap stars as a whole have all types of women in their videos, but how often does that happen with white videos?

It is so easy to say, “Oh I don’t see color” but the fact that I have to almost struggle to come up with 5 non-black celebs with black wives but can immediately name 7 black men with non-black wives, says a lot. Just something to think about.

As for Taye being married to a white woman that’s he’s business but when you go out of your way to try and put Black women down that’s when I have a problem, and that’s what he did.

I don’t think Taye or any other of the black celebs are trying to “up” their career by dating white men/women. After you reach a certain level of maturity and become more open minded, you stop limiting your self to just race or other superficial things and open yourself up to love and happiness. Why oh why do we always have to question interracial relationships? Good Lord, it’s 2006. We, as a whole, need to realize that love knows no color. If we continue to see color then we limit ourselves. There are amazing people out there…are we to let the color of their skin determine whether we develop a romantic relationship with that person? If so, many people will be alone for a good portion of their lives.

Just from reading the post, it’s obvious that Diggs has self hate issues that he needs to address. I know I’m gonna step on toes by saying this. Please don’t take this the wrong way…but some darker skinned(and fair skin)have issues with their color. Maybe, he was always looked over for being to dark(not to mention he’s short and has a face like a froggy)by the ladies (and the men too…lol!!!). So now his children(that they may have) have a better chance of not suffering the same fate that he has.

If you have ever read the book “The Blacker the Berry” by Wallace Thurman you could get what I’m saying. This book was originally published in 1929. This book address the “issues” of being dark skinned in the Black Community. As much as black women love to say “I love chocolate men”, the fact still remains that having the dark skin can sometimes be looked upon as being a “curse” or not attractive. Hum, if he had of just heard the expression “I’mo slap the black off of you” one less time, then maybe he would stayed “home”…lol!

Be Reasonable: I don’t see how anyone could think that celebrities being in a interacial relationship could actually “up” their status. Is it not possible that the two of them truly love one another for who they are? Not the color of their skin? Personally, I can’t figure out what the big deal is if Taye Diggs got himeself a white woman for a wife. We don’t only find common interests with those who share the same color of skin. Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel share a love of theatre/acting and who knows what else? We don’t live their lives.

Also, Jewish is a religion…not a race. There are white Jewish people and black Jewish people. So, no being Jewish is not the same as being white.

What’s so bad about what he said on the Chris Rock show? If in his experience all the sistas overlooked him because he was short, then why is it bad that he related his experience? Frenchie is gorgeous. She’s slimmed down some and looks great. But I don’t like her hair. Taye is looking mighty fine and his wife is a great actress.

I don’t have a problem with Taye’s relationship per say. But I think the number of “famous” black men with non-black spouses speaks volumes. And it’s not just about them reaching a certain status because if it were just about that, SOMEONE WOULD HAVE NAMED 5 NON-BLACK “FAMOUS” MEN WITH BLACK WIVES by now. White men make it to that “level” and STILL don’t marry black women, so why do some of you excuse black men “making it” with not having a black wife.

And in most cases even those “famous” black men (by the way this includes the NFL, NBA, and MLB), that do have black wives, share a particular skin tone. Let’s face it, Pauletta Washington (Denzel) and Latonya Jackson (Samuel), are rare sights in the world of celebrity wives.

Trust me when I say love is blind but I also am aware of the history of black people in this country and how it has affected us mentally. So because of that alone, I see interracial relationships and wonder if the black person has his or her head together in terms of how their subconcious views him/herself and other black people.

Note- I’m still waiting for someone to name 5 either white, hispanic, asian, or east Indian famous men with a black wife. I’ll give you 2 with David Bowie (Iman), and Roger Ebert (Movie Critic).
