#57, i think the one thing that makes bajans unique when it comes to Trinidadian Calypso is that they have kept utilizing the essence of the African culture. Like the “Sak Passé” and “wet me down” types of calypso whereas some younger Trinidadian artists have taken the soca/reggae root BECAUSE OF IT’S POPULARITY WITH THE YOUNGER CROWD.

Trinidadians have contributed so much to music and dance, it’s not funny!

Hey- I’m part Tobagonian and I was at the show this year- it was excellent- the pics don’t even do enough justice. Patti Labelle killed it and so did Sting. Local artistes did their thing too- Sherwayne, Destra and Machel. It was like only the second PLYMOUTH- it was renamed- JAZZ FESTIVAL but it kicked ass.
