I think that’t the problem right there. People think because we’ve accepted it for years, we should continue to. And I know it’s been in rap videos for years but does that justify it? Now I listen mostly to AM stations like WAOK 1380, ATL - because they focus on issues within our community (and the world) and remind me that there are still a whole lotta intelligent, proactive, action oriented, and successful black people out there - despite what some would have us believe via television. Actually, I’m looking into how to get more “intelligent” music played on popular radio stations. I would love to hear more artists like Dwele, Julie Dexter, Talib, Mos, Jill, India, etc…
