Jackson Angry at GQ for Spoof Photos
Saturday, May 6, 2006
A recent GQ article spoofing Michael Jackson has the singer demanding the magazine apologize and pull the issue from circulation.
In a statement released Friday, Jackson’s representative, Raymone K. Bain, said Jackson is “furious” about a series of photos featuring a Jackson impersonator in the magazine’s May issue, now on newsstands.
The photos accompany an article called “Where’s Michael?” which documents writer Devin Friedman’s quest to find Jackson in Bahrain, the Middle Eastern country where he lives.
In one photo, a Jackson look-alike sits in a darkened movie theater amid a row of children. Another photo shows him standing in the desert draped in a black cloak and headscarf, with his trademark glittery white glove.
The statement said: “Mr. Jackson is furious that his image has been used in such a misleading way, and is demanding an apology from the editors of GQ, and its publisher, Conde Nast. Mr. Jackson is also demanding that the magazines be pulled from newsstands.” [SOURCE]
If anyone has the rest of the scans, hook a sista up!!!

GA, iI cosign that. How does a reputable magazine like GQ/ Conde Naste make such errors in judgement to do something so offensive and cheap? An impersonator for heavens sake! What, they could’nt get Mike so they pull this Enquirer Style bullish?
Pitiful!

Damn he left here to escape media/public scrutiny. Just goes to show the lengths some people will go to get a good laugh In one photo, a Jackson look-alike sits in a darkened movie theater amid a row of children …sad. Shit let the man attempt to live in the peace he has never had.

I’m always hesitant when it comes to “statement releases” from MJ because people are forever making up shit, but I dont think he’d sweat this one.
Oh and to the heiffa who said he is a child meloster, (lol) dont make me dangle your ass out the window. Where’s your proof? You saw him do it? Or you just being ignorant and judgemental like the rest of them folks on your side?
People, ‘reserve your sympathy’ for these so-called child ‘victims’ A.K.A Unfortunete-Children-Of-Broke-Ass-Money-Hungry-Backstabbing-Families & co, aswell as the REAL molestors out there who are out there, insteading focusing [this subject] all on MJ. I also love it when the supporters of so-called victims of child molestation (Oh I feel sorry for the kid! So terrible! Michael should go to jail!) are the same people who make child molestation jokes. There is nothing humourous about being molested.
Does anyone else think that Michael Jackson jokes are so dead? Its not even funny anymore, shit just shut up now, lol. I mean, not that they were ever funny to begin with, but its like let it go. Its 2006, move on.
I mean, the man leaves America and people are still trying to milk every story (and turn it into a big fiasco) they can out of him. Michael scratches his butt because it itches, and the story (plus a few exaggerated details of course) makes the cover on the Newspaper, lol Shit is not that serious, they and people like them need to go do something productive with their lives… and thats in regards to any and every celebrity.

i am soory yall….i love mj and all but he just played himself. Demanding an apology? Pull mags off the stand? Yeah right! What is he going to do when they don’t do it?
He has 2 know he does not have it like that anymore. He allowed himself to become an INTERNATIONAL joke. All they did was clown him. It was in bad taste but, they have the right 2 do it.

You would think michael jackson would be used to all the bad press; What else is new?? What does he expect from the American media and tabloids?? Michael jackson has ruined his career and his image all by himself, and the media pulls him down and exploits him even more; however, i do think people should let him be now, hes gone into hiding and he apparently does not want to be bothered.

as an entertainer michael will ALWAYS be the man..but as far as anything else..he needs help badly I hate to see someone so talented just waste away in life..as for the molestation issues..well all i can say is IF he did do it, GOD will take care of him..he can run from the law, he can even manipulate the law..but he can’t do either with himself..everything in the dark comes to light sooner or later…as far as him getting mad about what the mag did, he just better be happy no ne has come up w/anymore accusations damn a magazine

Its a damn shame that people will beleive anything they read just cause its there. lol Michael has been scrutinized by the press for years upon years now — what makes people so sure that this ’statement’ is even true? Yes, I acknowledge that I could be wrong of course. But I’m having a hard time beleiving that he would get furious over something so petty such as this. (This sort of spoofing has been done time and time again, so why get angry now?)
I’m tired of the “Michael ruined himself” philosophy. Michael didnt do shit, and I think its safe to say that nobody wants to be humilated. And even if he did do it to himself — are you saying that because of Michael and his issues, he deserves it? Or that he had it coming? (As if people have a choice). Not making accusations, just asking. Cause it sounds like you’re making it seem as if the media has the right to go about destroying his name.

Oliand, when it comes to MJ, even the most reputable establishments become sleazy. For some reason, its ok to speculate and make fun of MJ. That ain’t right, and God don’t like ugly.
As for MJ, get over it man! I’m sure this is not the worst. Let the haters hate! You’re invincible, remember?

I bet there a bunch of little boys who are “furious” at Jackson. Go to hell, perv. He’s a publicity hound, but only when it’s on his terms. Well publicity doesn’t work that way, especially for the notorious.

I co-sign with She Roc…Even though I don’t have proof that Michael did anything to any child, wouldn’t most agree that his “obsession” with young boys is quite strange? I wouldn’t let my elementary school aged son alone with him, would any of you? As far as this article in GQ, being a celebrity is b*tch, ain’t it? That’s the price they have to pay. Michael ain’t complainin when the press is good. Sorry Mike, you got to take the lumps with the bumps.

His obsession with young boys is quite strange. But there is no obsession to begin with? I dont think people pay close attention. His love (or obsession if you will) for children makes him suspect. Than all of a sudden, to others, children = young boys. Girls arent children too? Michael throughout his whole career has visited hospitals of sick patients, owns 39 charities, and provides deprived children (with say disabilities, etc) to have fun with games, rides, and what not.
^This somehow makes him suspicious, a potential offender. There’s no doubt in my mind that if a female did all these things, no one would think twice. Females are though to to be sensitive and motherly, so this would be ‘natural’. But be it a man, it must be some ulter?motive, lol Just a theory….
Ever saw that “Home Videos” Fox special back in 03? They played various clips of him (and the family) at his home and things like that. There was one party celebration from ‘92 with Janet, mama and papa, his millions of cousins (lol) and what not. Something tells me that if he REALLY does molest boys, nobody — not his family, his extended family, not his friends — would notice, be concerned, etc? Come on now, that’s highly unbeleivable.
Wade Robson (now a choreographer) and McCauley Culkin were two people who knew Jackson when they were young, and straight forwardly say that he did not molest anyone; so why would they lie? It wouldnt benefit them. It would not help them. So what is it?
You mean to tell me that all of a sudden in 2005, a whole bunch of people come running with ‘evidence’ like *OH YYESSH, MI USED TO WORK FOR MISSTER JAAAKSON AND I SAW HIM BEING INAPPROPRIATE WITH MY SONNN!* says the former maid. Okay, you saw him doing something inappropriate and you decide to say shit 10 years later?!?!?! lol…
And regarding the 1993 case - does anyone not find it peculiar that the parents of the alleged victim ASKED Michael for money? No, contrary to popular belief, MJ didnt pay them as “hush money”. They ASKED. What kind of parent asks for money from someone who hurt their child? Any parents in the house here? If someone molested your child, would you want money — or would you want them in jail, so they cannot hurt anyone else? How is money supposed to make things better for their son? Yeah, alrighty than. lol
(By the way, what do you mean by Michael aint complaining when the press is good? Well shit, DUH lol That doesnt make any sense to me. Who complains when the press is positive? You know that is a rarity too, lol).
SheRoc - Denial aint just a river in Egypt. Denial. The Nile. Like the Nile River? Get it?
Okay I’m done, lol I’ve wrote so much I’m getting tired of reading myself talk…
