Nelly Furtado has achieved #1 status on the Billboard 200 charts with her third album, “Loose.” The Mosley Music/Geffen set shifted 219,000 units, earning Furtado her best single-week sales and her first #1 on the big chart. “Loose,” largely produced by Timbaland has garnered Nelly Furtado a lot of cross-over success within the year. She recently completed the video shoot for her second American single, “No Hay Igual.”
After the success of Gnarls Barkley’s “St. Elsewhere,” Cee-Lo and Jazze Pha’s previously shelved Columbia Records project “Happy Hour” is due out for re-release. With co-production by the two, the album is said to less dark than the Gnarls Barkley release, and Jazze Pha’s singing and rapping debut.
OutKast is gearing up for the release of their long-awaited movie and same-titled album, “Idlewild.” The album cover recently surfaced, and it’s pretty dope. The album will also feature appearances from Sleepy Brown, and Purple Ribbon artists, Scar and Janelle Monae. The video for their first single, “The Mighty O” should be out for release soon, with a follow-up single called “Morris Brown,” by Big Boi, featuring Scar and Sleepy Brown.
Jamie Foxx is supposedly releasing the Timbaland-produced, “Can I Take U Home” (one of my favorites off the album, “Unpredictable”) instead of “Extravaganza” as his next single. That should be a good look for the summer. I hope with the video they cut to “Warm Bed” at the end. That’s my joint!
