LOL, I don’t anymore but it did ease my “pain” at the time, shoo pain wasn’t the only thing it helped ease!!!!!

If it helps relieve pain better than any medical prescription then why not legalize it for MS/cancer/AIDS patients? They should derive the chemicals from the plant and make a pill. That way the pharmaceutical companies can make money from it. Isn’t that partially what this is about?

there actually is a pill that has the same qualities as weed but without the “high” affect…but isn’t gettin “high” the point…maybe its just me

speakin’ from my own experience, i smoked everyday while taking chemotherapy. i would get bad headaches and have some joint pain, and the weed would ease, if not alleviate the pain.

i know some of y’all are going to make jokes about that statement, but it really is a natural painkiller.

and y’all are right, the government won’t make it legal because pharmaceutical companies didn’t think of it first and can’t/won’t make a multi-million dollar profit off it. even if they did figure out a way to “manufacture” it in their labs, it wouldn’t be as effective as 100% all natural weed. i’m not talkin’ about that hydro mess people be smokin’…but pure, unadulterated, home-grown in organic soil WEED!!

@29 I’m talking about the people who use it beyond a recreational use and abuse it. I understand weed is natural, but the Native Americans long ago didn’t abuse it the way people do these days.

If you have a medical condition,and it’s used responsibly, then that’s understandable. I think marajuana has some medicinal uses. The only reason it’s not legal is because the government hasn’t figured out how they can tax such a drug, especially since it is natural. It all comes back to the money.

I was just referring to the dumb people who smoke weed to the point where they lips are black and they fingers are dark, and everytime you walk past them they smell like it.

The use of marajuana has been abused and made as an excuse. And the statement that they shouldnt be born… we’ll most of these people aren’t doing anything with their life but wasting it. Why waist aperfectly good life? If life was interchangeable like that, I’d take it and give to people who died or were killed too soon. The loosers in this world are like cockroaches, they never die!

My mom has M.S. so I know first hand what Montel is going through. If he needs the Maryjane to feel better then they should allow it. My mom has to smoke it as well to feel better. If you’re not affected by this disease you don’t care what they go through on a daily basis.

If it helps, Montel, keep on using!!! I have a number of relatives, including my mother (RIP) that smoked weed to alleviate pain from disease..Weed never killed anyone..There is only one known case of weed killing someone and that was when a 500 lb bale of the stuff fell on a guy…Once the government figures out a way to monetarily capitalize on weed’s legalization, they’ll legalize it. Maybe if they legalized it, then they could concentrate on drugs that KILL (coke, heroin, meth, etc.)

I wouldn’t smoke any weed that gets legalized by the federal government, just like i don’t take any prescription pharmaceutical drugs, unless it is a life-threatening medical emergency. all that ish has side effects that either require more drugs to alleviate the side effects or require surgery to remove a body part damaged by the side effects of the drug.

if i had known then what i know, i would never have had surgery to remove my lymph nodes or taken chemotherapy…it’s the chemo that kills people, not the cancer itself, which is a curable disease, but not by conventional methods.

when i say life-threatening medical emergency, i mean if i was in a car accident or some other type of accident. i don’t agree with the use of drugs to treat the “symptoms” of dis-ease and don’t get to the root cause of the person’s illness. it’s like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound that’s bleeding profusely and wondering why the bleeding won’t stop.

The one thing that gets me hot about this site is how judgmental people are. Only G-d can judge us, not some random blogger with spelling errors in their comments. I live in California, where perscriptions are available for medicinal marijuana and there are coffee shops that you can pick it up from. The people that go in and out of that facility are no different and their lives are worth no less than anyone else. I feel that anything in excess is a problem, but in moderation, marijuana is a useful and at times neccessary tool.

NetworKing, I have to disgree with you. Weed is definately not addictive. I used to smoke everyday. (and I have a very good One day I just decided to stop, and that’s it.
Now cigarettes on the other hand, are addictive. And waaayy more harmful than weed.

well… I understand Montel’s situation and agree.

I have had fibromyalgia for 10yrs(which is VERY painful) and just one of my doctors prescribed 13 different medications and all together I was supposed to take 21 meds total. [Something for the pain, something for the nausea & vomitting, something for the spasms, something for the chronic fatigue, something for the insomnia, and the list goes on and on...]

I felt like a numb zombie taking all those pills (and most days I wouldn’t take them all because I had to function enough to go to work). The one day I couldn’t take living in slow motion anymore… and just stopped taking anything. And that was UNBEARABLE, until a friend (whose uncle had cancer and was on a medicinal use program) suggested I try some too.

Smoking allowed me to live a somewhat normal life again. The pain became manageable, nausea & vomitting gone (imagine throwing up & feeling nauseated every day for 6 years… even w/meds), the achiness disappeared, and so forth and so on…

I recently moved to another state and don’t have any ‘connects’… so now I am back to excrutiating pain, nausea, vomitting, aching, spasms, chronic fatigue, migraines and other debilitating symptoms. If marijuana were legal, I could go to the store and get some just like any other medicine available. But I can’t, and I not willing to get a f’d up record over some bull*hit. (But what I would give for a good wake ‘n’ bake!!!!)

That’s the point I was trying to say, when you abuse it, that’s when it goes to far. Native Americans use it to connect with spirits,and during times of enlightnement.(Basically thinking)Marajuana was considered something that wasn’t used lightly or taken for granted now.
