MONTEL WILLIAMS WANTS TO GET HIS SMOKE ON, LEGALLY
Thursday, June 8, 2006
Montel Williams, the talk show host that publicly speaks about his marijuana use, is lobbying to legalize the ‘drug’.
“I want you to meet someone who’s not a drug dealer, not a dope addict, just somebody who’s trying to get up every morning and go to work.”
Williams went on to explain how marijuana eases the symptoms of his multiple sclerosis enough to let him function. Registered with programs in California and Canada that permit possession of small amounts of marijuana for medical use, he urged New Jersey to adopt one of its own.
He then went on to say, “I break the law every day. I will continue to break the law every day.” (read more)
Obviously he is smoking something, because if I see Sylvia Browne on his show one more time, imma slap somebody.

NetworKing Weed is the safest drug and way less addicting than crack, coke, meth and all that shit. Go tell ur shit to all the crackheads, meth heads, and whatever these dudes smoke. Weed dont kill you. Networking I aint say it was right, but if u gonna say shit like weed smokers should have never been born, etc then say the same about cigarette smokers .
cigarettes are basically suicide cancer sticks with no purpose other than killing you. People who smoke ciggarettes are as dumb as crackheads and people who smoke weed everyday. Aint nothing wrong with smoking some mary jane in moderatation though. It has more advantages than smoking a tar stick which has none at all.

So I take it you smoke weed everyday? If so, why?

Caffine is addictive.
Nicotine is addictive.
Alcohol is addictive.
Prescription drugs are designed to be addictive.
From the jitters to drunk driving to going postal,
people swear by this crap, and it’s legal. Some of it
reccommended by 9 out of ten doctors.
The wisdom of over 10,000 years
made weed a daily commodity worldwide.
Black People could not have survived slavery without
hemp. It has a dozens of uses Europeans were not aware of at that time. And that, they couldn’t take away from us.
This country was founded on hemp.(Cannibis Sativa)
When the bankers triggerd The Depression(and sent
that money to Hitler) weed was looked upon as a way
for people of color to make money. They didn’t want
any American to make money untill Germany was strong enough to start WWII ON SCHEDULE.
(Sept. 1 1939, @ 05:30hours on the border of Holland)
I agree with some people it is a problem. But, so
is food.
So don’t be manipulated by disinformation. If Montell or any victim of desease benefits from its effects, this stupid Government should be the one to sell it. It would put alot of people to work and solve the
deficit in short order.
Besides its only psychologically addictive like
internet blogging.

4Q interesting, you must of done some research! I think the people who are making the most fuss about people not liking weed smokers are the ones who do it on a regular basis. I think some may take offense to some of the comments other’s or I have said because in one point or another, it’s true. They’re just not willing to accept they’re are part of that group. Everyone wants to be seen as an individual and almost unique in the fact that “This may be the case, but not for me”. If you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem. Simple as that. There are millions of addictions, but at this moment, the addiction of the moment is weed.
I love blogs, cuz I think this is the only place where people can debate without becoming overly irate, and if they do, who cares, it’s on a computer!

You abuse weed like everyting else, simply doing it too much. Too much of anything is bad. When it effects you getting a job, or where you feel you need to smoke to start your day, etc…
@ Tyrone, I know cigs arn’t any better. Today on my break at work, I saw this pregnant woman at my job smoking a cig. I couldn’t believe it. Atleast give your baby a chance/choice to be introduced to nicotine on their own. What do you say to a woman who is about 7 months pregnant smoking? I’m sure they’ve heard it all before. My grandfather had lung cancer and he still couldn’t stop smoking.

Honestly, NetworKing, you sound like a fool. It’s nice you think you can sit in judgement and tell somebody that they’re the bain of black America because they like to smoke an herb. Baby, I am a black female, 29 years old, graduated at the top of my high school class, went on to Princeton, graduated cum laude, worked for two years as a mechanical engineer, went back to school and got my MBA from New York University. While there I studied Operations Management and also Social Entrepreneurship. I wrote a business plan that involves community programs that would significantly increase the number of African American and Latino students who pursue careers in the sciences. Meanwhile you’re sitting on a blog chastizing people that you do not know while your posts are riddled with grammatical errors and general disregard of many of the basic rules of written English. So my question to you is, as a person who doesn’t smoke weed, what have you done that is so outstanding that you can judge others? Man please, go somewhere with that mess and let responsible adults do what they do.

So, I a self hating Negro because I want people like Montell Williams and Nunya to feel better. Where is your compassion?
And I would be glad to debate you any day, on the illustrious and indespensable contrbutions of the African diaspora to mankind past and present. Shall we start with Snefru,Ancient Meroe or Dr. Ben Carson.
Shaka Zulu’s witch doctor used derivitives of marihuana that enabled his troops to defeat the technologicly superior British. So did Queen Nzinga. I know, learning
your own history can be a shock to the brain. But, the truth is, Africans used hemp for millenia. Oh. I forgot, the White man omitted that from your history lesson, so your not at fault.
All cannibis does not get you high. It replaces many
profitable and not so healthy chemicals we use every day. They don’t want you to be healthy, especially black people. (remember the Tuskeegee Experiment)
To Kindanice @ #83
Who brought more drugs into this country than
the millitary? Remember Oliver North? Just because they tell you that somthing is bad does not mean you should believe it. The point I was trying to make @ #80 is that they told us WWII was to make the world safe for democracy. In reality, Hitler was basiclly hired to conduct and supervise genocide by Americans industrialists because they knew who and what he really was. Thats where broke ass Germany and starving artist Hitler, got the letters of credit to build planes and tanks.
These same “upstanding” and patriotic people’s family fortunes were made forcing Chinese people to smoke opium at gunpoint. Funny thing though, hemp was temporarily legalized in 1942 and grown by farmers when the Navy started running out of rope.
Networking my Brother. I always enjoy reading your blogs. Your insight has brought much clarity to
this discussion. Like I said before, use the weed that dosen’t get you high for medical purposes and bring down some of these exorbitant health care cost.
Maybe Sylvia Brown is Montell’s connect. That’s
probably why she on the show so much.
I know, I know, I’m a friggin a clown. But one thing for sure, I never disrespect the the wisdom of my ancestors!

Unfortunately, I have MS it’s a chronic disease of the central nervous system.
It’s a very unpredictable disease. And all the medications are injectibles(shots)
There also many side effects to the shots, tremors, hot and cold flashes. And for women it’s a little worst because it messes with some of our womenly functions.
I myself faint at shots , and I’m suppose to give it to myself. I just can’t. It’s like a little part of me dies everytime I have to get the damn shot.
Mine isn’t as bad as Montel’s he uses a different injection and he shoots daily. I use Avonex and I am suppose to shot once a week.
I haven’t had a shot now in 7 months, I do my physical therapy daily and I do alternative therapy.
I don’t smoke to smoke I smoke to move on.I can get vicodin, tylenol 3 and 4 but those are addictive also.
I’d rather take a puff or two than shoot myself with a needle 1 and 1/4 inch long. It must get in the muscle not the bloodline.
So anyone that has a problem with it, whatever, just let me know how it feels to fall flat on your face and lay there until you have some feeling in your legs and let’s just say the feeling doesn’t return for 3 weeks and it’s not 100% it’s only 50 and you now need an aparatus to get around!
Puff puff pass Montel!

Just wanted to add my shots alone run $1300 a month without prescription coverage. With coverage it’s still $100 a month for shots alone.
My other meds run me another $100 a month.
Luckily, my mom’s from Jamaica and we own a place there,so I grow my own and I visit frequently atleast every other month.
I know alot of MS patients don’t have that luxury, also alot of MS patients are far worst than I.
Even though I have MS I cherish everyday, because I know I could wake up tomorrow worst than I am today.
I have MS, MS doesn’t and never will have me.

I sincerely apologize to you. Not only were you not
talking about me you wasn’t even talkin to me! I realized this just as I posted my comment.
Ok, Ok I ain’t very bright, told you I
am a clown. But, I just can’t stand to see sick
people being forced to suffer when they don’t
have to.
They tell us lies to make us hate one of the
few natural plants that can save the planet.
Cannibis can be liquified, charcoalized and gassified.
It can be used as fuel. It dosen’t hurt the soil like
the sugarcane they grow for fuel in Brazil. It can be turned into salves, oils, medicines, livestock feed and building materials, for example. Before cottton was king the best clothing was made from hemp. It held dye good and lasted 5 times longer than the clothes we wear today.
Alright, I know what you’re all sayin.
Shut the hell up black ass fool.
So I shall bid you all adieu.
And my best to Sheroc.

@95 i totally feel you. i have ms and at 30 i use a walker on worse days and a cane on bad days. good days are few and far between. i shoot 3x a week. meds are highway robbery-2g’s /mth. plus acupuncture 4x mth.300. the pill form is not the same and does not work. it takes natural form to help you function on a 1/2 way normal level. its not weed thats addictive to ms patients its the normal functioning. don’t judge until you live my life–please and thank you

@100 have you tried water aerobics?
It’s really helped me tremendously I’m also in the process of being certified as an MS Aquatics Instructor.
Try it, it’s really liberating. You’re almost weightless in the water. You’ll be able to do alot of things you can’t on land. I have people in my class now that can’t walk at all some of them are blind also but it’s like when there in the water w/assistance they feel alive. My class is only 1 hr but most of them like to just hang around in the water because they feel alive.

Likewise 4Q. I like the knowledge you have with your comments, not just random barking out the side your head like most people posting!
I feel for those on here who have MS. I have heard of a couple family friends who have it, and it’s definatly something that can be a struggle from day to day.
This goverment we have is so corrupted, and the sad thing is that we can talk about how messed up our system is, but people still won’t do anything about it. Same as this high ass gas, yesterday in our area was “Pull the Pump” where no one was “suppose” to not go get gas, but people were still packed at the gas stations like it was the club. The government and the laws will never change because it’s not that people don’t care about it, it’s that people are to lazy to do something about it. It’s easy to talk about it, than to actually put some action behind it. I think everyone should see “Vendetta”. It’s a good movie and shows what kind of power we could have if we all stuck together to get things done and laws passed.

I’ve often heard that if they legalized marijuana everyone will be smoking it. Just because it becomes legal doesn’t mean that everyone is going to be smoking it. There is a McDonalds around every corner, doesn’t mean that everyone is gonna eat it. And if everyone does smoke it, so what it’s legal! The FDA is a trip. I know they already have a cure for HIV and AIDS too.
Food and drugs are the most contriversal because it’s the way the governments can make the most money. Someone look up what is required of the FDA in order to approve something. Most of it’s pretty rediculous!

The one thing that gets me hot about this site is how judgmental people are. Only G-d can judge us, not some random blogger with spelling errors in their comments. I live in California, where perscriptions are available for medicinal marijuana and there are coffee shops that you can pick it up from. The people that go in and out of that facility are no different and their lives are worth no less than anyone else. I feel that anything in excess is a problem, but in moderation, marijuana is a useful and at times neccessary tool.
