Word is that Vibe Magazine recently had a staff shakeup, and Editor in Chief, Mimi Valdes tops the list. The Bitter Vibes blog, broke this exclusive news yesterday.
Bitter Vibes is an anonymous blog, fronted by one of Vibe’s ‘bitter’ staff members; the disgruntled employee calls out the backstabbers & fake bitches from behind the scenes. It’s a pretty good blog; you need to check it out.
Anyway, I read some of the comments on the blog and they said Mimi Valdes was crying her eyes out, and she has until next week Wednesday to clean out her desk. They also posted the list of the ‘alleged’ staff members that got the boot. The list is as follows: Mimi Valdes, Shani Saxon, Eric Parker, Jamie Katz, and Lakeba Hollar..
Two new hot tracks have just been leaked from OutKast’s brand new album, “Idlewild,” which will also double as the soundtrack for the long-anticipated movie release. “Morris Brown,” a song titled after the defunkted historically black university is Big Boi’s solo piece, featuring Purple Ribbon artist Scar and Sleep Brown and it seriously KNOCKS, while the funky “Idlewild Blue” is Andre 3000’s solo post. Rumoredly, the current single “The Mighty O” is the only song the duo has together on the album. Either way, I’m eager to here the greatness that these two have churned out.
The video for “Morris Brown” was recently shot in Los Angeles and should be out for release soon. I’ve heard some absolutely great things about the video, so be on the look-out. Also, check for the new VIBE, with OutKast on the cover.

The new Dreamgirls commercial from the BET Awards is finally up. Check it out. They are really doing hard promo for this movie. Guess that Bill Condon’s feeling that Oscar buzz.
It hasn’t been a full 72 hours since Star Jones announced that she was “leaving” The View, and they have already deleted her profile on the ABC website, told her NOT to come back to ABC studios, and worse of all, she is being replaced by her arch nemesis, Rosie O’Donnell. I hate to say it, but I’m on Star’s side.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love to hate Star Jones, but she is in the right with this one. Why did she have to announce that she was getting the boot, on their terms? What kind of crap is that? If anything, she was the reason people were watching the show in the first place. From her rapid weight loss, to her marriage to a gay man, EVERYONE was waiting to see what she was going to do next.
Some people are going to pull that race card, and they may be right to do so. Why is it that everytime a minority (especially female) is in the media and is confident and outspoken, she is seen in a negative light? And then, everyone quickly jumps on the media created bandwagon of unwarranted hatred of that person? I find that really funny. Now, next season Rosie’s crazy ass is gonna be on there? Doesn’t make any sense..
The real question should be, who even watches The View anymore? Their ratings can’t be THAT good.
