I was there–it was a mess. It was entertaining for about 2 seconds, and then it was @#$^ annoying because he was wrecking the New Edition show which folks paid hard earned dollars to see. Steve Harvey was comedy enough–I didn’t need tired azz Bobby to provide unintentional comedy moments. The nigga can’t sing–and tried to do some parliament/funkadelic song for 30 straight mins–he used up all his time and didn’t get to finish my perogative…they turned his mike off half way thru the song and cut the music (yeah he was singing to a track w/ vocals on it)….and nobody cared.

Bobby know he need to stop but I still bet it was funny as hell though.

I was there, and everything you have heard is true. But I can one up it. I was actually backstage, and let me tell you, before he came out he was hyping himself up and was running back and forth from side to side and doing the George Jefferson walk really fast, it was really funny. Then after the first 10 mins. of his performance it was the worst!!! He did “I Got To Get Away” for about 20 minutes and I am not exaggerating I timed it, and trust me people were wanting him to get away for real!!! I might, might be able to sneek someone the videotape. I will see what I can do.

Sorry ya’ll.. I was there at the concert last night, and that nigga ripped it! The section i was sitting in didnt want him to leave.. Essence only gave him a 30 minute set, which wasnt shit. The closed the curtain on the band, who kept playing after Bobby said “good night”. Then, he ran thru the curtains and started singing My Perogative.. The crowd went nuts.. Essence turned the mic off on him and the entire crowd kept signing the song, while he sat there listening!! Shit was wild, he stole the show! I’d pay to see him again.

I was at the Essence Festival in Houston and as far as Bobby’s performance…He left the stage and they began playing My Perrogative and he came back and the crowd was hype they let the curtain down and he came from around the curtain to do the song. The crowd wanted to hear him the sound people turned off the mic on him. The sound people messed up on everything Sunday so New Edition and Bobby Brown was cut short Jaheim was on stage trying to fight through the bad sound but Jamie Foxx work through it. The best was Doug E Fresh and the Hip Hop Pioneers. Just wanted the people to know that Bobby did his thing and the crowd showed him much Love his hype man is the one that needed to sit down

NE members/fans are loyal to a fault, but they need to decide if it’s worth ruining the show to have Bob on stage. In this case, it clearly was not.

She was hitting some bad notes, talking through the songs. She sounded and looked like she was on something! It’s really sad that she has messed herself up so much. Her voice used to be beautiful!
