This is just a small factor in a bigger problem of media. The fact that an artist can be “blacklisted” in the first place is ridicoulous especially since we supposedly live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. With only 5 or 6 major coporations running all our media you can expect them to endorse the products and people they want to endorse. Then they will turn around and make you think you have control. See TRL and 106 & Park. Please if those countdowns are rigged I don’t know what is.

If you want to watch or listen to the stuff you like you better get with the internet with a quickness because you will not find it on mainstream media. It’s always the same five people over and over again.

As much as I have not been into Janet’s music the past few years I can still see shady when I see it. So I’m down for a boycott of MTV and Justin TimberFAKE not for Janet but for free media. The people are suppose to control the media not Viacom or GE or whatever other white owned billion dollar companies that are out there.

Playing the Devil’s Advocate here. Don’t be naive about the ‘wardrobe malfunction’. Look at the outfit - the breast flap is removeable. Look at the nipple ring - what are odds that it was there to make her tata’s more stylish just in case there was a malfunction? The whole move was done right on cue. Neither JJ or JT looked embarrassed, ashamed or shocked. Seems like JJ was fined because she was the most culpable. JT just got lucky. His image is more wholesome. JJ, on the other hand, has used every photo-op or live appearance to show off her goodies.

Janet Jackson, Star Jones, Micheal Jordan, Muhammed Ali, and even Micheal Jackson have all been blacklisted by the white conglomerates. Black celebrities have a small margin for error when it comes to things being played out in the media. Most of the media is controlled by Jews( and they are white) so I don’t expect anything to be fair-play. I refuse to add Kobe Bryant, O.J., and R. Kelly among that list. But white people in general are considered to be ‘innocent’ so it’s not suprising they’re not subjected to the same ridicule as blacks. When Columbine happen, every news media in history wanted to know what could have prevented this and why these “kids” did such a horrible thing, when young blacks were dying everyday and nobody gave a fuck. That’s why so much shit is censored now because of this incident. When crystal meth(which is predominately used by whites) hit hard, 20/20, Dateline and all of these mass media fucks wanted to find a solution for this ‘terrible epidemic’ when drugs affect our communty as well. Robert Downey, Jr., who is superb actor, had been in and out jail due to his heavy drug use, was supported by Hollywood and the media. Find one black actor or entertainer that got that kind of support. Micheal Jackson was beloved by whites and the media more so than his own people. He was accused, charged, and convicted by the media when shows like Dateline, 60 minutes, etc. ran all of those episodes about Micheal in 2003, strangely, the War in Iraq had just begun with less media coverage. That’s how quick whites turned on Micheal. And Janet is paying the same price. Madonna and Brittany can kiss on national television and not even a hair is raised. So fuck MTV.

Everytime we blacks try to prevail and do well something always happend to pull us back. I hope Janet getting blacklisted has nothing to do with what her sick ass brother been doing. Jackson ‘Blacklisted’ by MTV?

Fans of singer Janet Jackson are accusing MTV of blacklisting the star, because it has yet to announce a date for the debut of the singer’s latest music video, “Call On Me.”

The clip was first played on network Black Entertainment Television last Wednesday, but MTV has not made any indication of when it will air the video.

According to celebrity news Web site TMZ.com, Jackson’s official Web site has been swamped with posts from fans complaining about the MTV snub.

Disgruntled fans have also flooded the MTV.com message boards requesting that the video be played, but claim their posts have been unfairly deleted by the site’s moderator for “obscene, vulgar, abusive or harassing comments.”

Sources tell TMZ the singer’s snub is related to her 2004 Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction” during the half-time show, co-produced by MTV, which was heavily fined by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission after the mishap.

I think it is pretty apprent that MTV is blacklisting Janet and disagree shows the lack of intelligence some people have. YOu know an artist is being blacklisted when it is quoted in the “San Francisco Chronicle.”

Michael Jackson was upset with SONY for not properly promoting his album, “INVINCIBLE.” He wasn’t upset because it “wasn’t selling.” The album sold 10 million albums world wide. And that’s WITHOUT proper promotion. Wow!

Can I just ask, both of the entertainers apologized for the SB incident. I didn’t watch the actual SB half-time show because none of the peformers really appealed to me, but later that same night, I do remember that Justin and his PR team had an apology on the CBS SB website that night promptly. Which is why we all knew the term “waldrobe malfunction” by the 8am the next morning. In order to attend the Grammys, he opted to apologize live on national T.V. and Janet CHOSE not to apologize live (yes, we all know about the fake pain she felt when she decided to videotape her apology 2 days later). I say that to make the point that why does everyone say he left her to take the blame when in reality he seems to be the only one of the two that was being forced to say much of anything about what happened or did not happen that entire week. Both of their stories are the same and still continue to be the same…I believe, it’s it was a mistake. Janet has never come clean to say it was an intentional stunt. So, is she lying? As much as I love Janet, I was taken aback that it took her 2 days after the SB incident before she decided to comment about it…it seems that she was too busy to apologize to African-Americans for doing something that stupid at age 40, as well as to apologize to America, in general in a timely manner because she was trying to get what she hoped would be a money-making first single, Just A Little While, out the very next day. Not true. You must have missed the interview that Justin Timberlake granted to ‘Entertainment Tonight’. have it on tape, too bad I cant upload it on the internet. Dont own a DVD burner. 1: Why should she apologize to African Americans? What is there to be sorry for? It was White America who were offended (because the Superbowl is a “family show”). The debate is weather or not JJ has been black listed by MTV. A lot of folks have pointed out that Viacom owns it all (MTV, BET, CBS? Some say not CBS, etc.), so I guess the heads are punishing Janet for the Super Bowl fiasco huh? Hey, this may be the case, but it may also be that her new song is NOT slappin! Even Madonna and some of the other veterans mentioned are no longer mainstays on MTV anymore; face it, It’s a young man’s/woman’s world. 40 is not old, but to the youngsters it is.

Everybody’s pointing fingers at “The Man” (Viacom). Don’t get me wrong because I know that the brass (Chairmen, CEO, VP, etc.) of most conglomerates such as Viacom are powerful older white men, who at some time in their lives stood by and couldn’t have cared less about the fortunes of blacks here in America (Not all, but some); there are probably those that even participated during the segregation years (Not all, but some). So in my opinion, Janet being black listed isn’t impossible; maybe the Viacom execs have black listed Janet just to show her/us that no matter what, they still run this.

I said it before and I’ll say it again; I believe the SB fiasco was done purposely. Although Janet was still selling a lot of records, they weren’t garnering Control & Rhythm Nation type numbers anymore, not to mention that younger female artist like Ashanti and Beyonce were tearing up the charts at the time.

She and her PR team probably thought that there couldn’t be a better way to cause an uproar (boost sales) than thrusting a tig ol bittie in millions of people’s faces during one of the most watched events in the world. I don’t think they imagined there would be that type of backlash though. I do find it odd that I can sit and watch Hugh Hefner’s reality show (Just last night) where all kinds of chi chi’s were out (Nothing but tassels covering the nipples on some). But I’m sure their excuse would be that the SB was viewed by millions (Children included), during prime time hours; like kids aren’t up at 10:00 p.m. watching basic cable during summer nights.

It’s strickly, a tactical and legal manuever on the part of the company to blunt themselves from attacks…either from public outrage or any lawsuits from Mrs Jackson. MTV’s move to block Jackson from air play is a violation of the RICO Act in my reading of it…and that’s illegal!!! The ACLU should get involved with this case ASAP!!! Viacom/CBS execs won’t play her on MTV, instead they say to her, get back with the rest of the niggers where you belong…and instantly, she’s segregated by the company over to the ghetto of BET and its black audience!!! I must say that a lot of the things that you said were on point. I think it’s important when you’re a fan of ANY artist to not accept the untruth of them being “perfect.” Janet has a lot of flaws, we all do as human beings. It can be hard to accept if we knew for a fact that Janet did the stunt on purpose and to get publicity like she’s never had before. How many of us Janet fans, before she apologized, thought or wondered if she wanted her breast revealed on purpose for people to really notice her in a different way? Shock value? But after she apologized, I must admit she seemed really sincere, to me atleast, and all her fans, including me, felt relieved to know that that wasn’t in her. That she wasn’t another Madonna or Cher who are known to shock people in ways like that, even Prince with the “booty pants.” If she did do it on purpose, she’s not the first artist to do so. But if it was indeed an accident…She doesn’t deserve to be treated the way MTV is treating her.

People realize that this is wrong on so many levels considering that justin ripped off her bra but he got no blame she shouldve slapped his gay ass in the face

Maybe MTV doesnt play Janet’s video because IT SUCKS! That song “Call On Me” is the suckiest song Janet has made since “I Want You”. Janet hasnt had a decent album since The Velvet Rope. She thinks she’s so great that people are suppose to support her music even if its garbage. whatever janet. YOU SUCK!

Of course a lot of the other music MTV plays sucks too (not as bad as janets new music), but mtv may have liked the other artists personally..or their representatives. MTV use to back janet because they liked her..but now they probably hate her because of that stunt she pulled at the superbowl. And she wont admit that she was wrong.

She put a lot of peoples necks and jobs on the line with that stunt..and then she comes on with a flimsy apolgy lying about it being an accident. THAT WASNT AN ACCIDENT! Out of all the good points that I made, that’s the only thing you can remember. Me dissin Prince. And dissin him I was not. If you really read the post, you would see that I was stating some obvious facts and that is that everyone from Cher to Madonna to Prince have, all in their own careers at different stages, done some shocking things on stage.
