I am just happy to see someone with a fully developed core competency, singing. Kinda got my fill of the almost singing, halfway dancing chicks out there. It’s fun to hear on the radio, but it gets old. Love Lupe, and if the Tribe could just come back we could get some balance to this hip-hop. I live in the “A” and I am tired of D4L soundalike groups being linked to what is the essence of hip-hop. It’s so much more than that. Some of us are caught up in the packaging that we ignore the lyrics. That is how artists get slept on.

At first I would change the TV station when Lupe’s joint would come on but the other day it’s like I had a revelation and decided to watch the whole thing. Lyrically, this guy is a genius. He reminds me of Talib Kweli. I write and love to read so I can always appreciate well penned metaphors and this is a hit. As for Miss Scott, FIYAH period!
