Now ya’ll KNOW I was expecting to listen to the first 15 seconds of this track and write Shanice off as a TALENTED “has been” produced by some “mediocre, wanna-be on” nobody’s tryin to use what little fame SHE has left to put THEIR name in the game - Was I PLEASANTLY surprised or WHAT?

I LOVE the track, thought the video would be bootleg (a’la Khia) and even that was a decent, quality product. For that reason alone, I’m going to buy this album.

(And since she reads this site: Neicy… don’t sell out sister, stay classy and hope that the masses hear your VOICE before they look for your BREAST! - and why isn’t the record company promoting your stuff?)

I like this song. I saw the video on BET some time ago. I didn’t really pay attention to all the couples there. Derek Luke really looks different. Monique’s man is fine! (Go ‘head girl!). I agree with a previous post that she should have better PR, but if you think about it all the people that claims to be her avid fans could just be the kind of PR she needs to spread the word both online and offline. Shanice’s new album is the SHIT! And I’m not talking about just 3 or 4 songs, I’m talking about the whole album. I remember waking up one night and the video for Every Woman Dreams was playing on BET Late Night. Aw man, the next day I was at Tower Records trying to by the album, getting frustrated and mad, about to go off on the sales clerk, because nobody new what I was talking about. But come to find out the album hadn’t come out yet! So I felt like a fool for acting a fool, lol. I said all that to say, from just hearing that one song, I was sold! I’ve never owned an album by her however, I’ve always felt she could sing, but on Every Woman Dreams, she tore that shit up! As far as I’m concerned, there are no female singers out there right now better than her and Syleena Johnson!

Congrats CL! Nothing like some positive feedback! Anyhow I got the CD when it dropped and I love it…I appreciate the songs she has written…she has another song that’s hot called “Chocolate” or something to do with chocolate…it’s cool too!

I’ve always been a Shanice fan. I had no idea the album had been released. I knew there was one coming but didn’t know when, I’ll go pick it up during my lunch break today. She’s always been a classy and respectable young lady. Very good role model. I’m so happy for her. Keep up the good work Shanice!!!

I saw the video for the first time on VH1 soul, the only channel I can stand to watch for music. I thought it was wonderful and so was the song. Shanice is still beautiful with her baby face. Happiness can do that to you. I hope her album does well. I will be getting it for sure.
I always thought celebs read sites like this all the time. Its not like they can hang out in public freely. They sit on their computers like everybody else but they google themselves.

I saw her when I was like 9 or maybe younger when she had the I love your smile hit and she was a great perfomance so I dunno what happened.. The most talented people like her and tamia never get the success they should be getting.

OK STRAIGHT UP, Shanice is one of THE most underrated vocalist in a generation. I have been a fan since the beginning when I read an article about a “up and coming” star in Right On Magazine (this was before the first album was even released). Then Vesta Williams was on BET and was talking about her label mate at the time and how she could SANG!!! I got that first album and was blown away and the rest is history.

I was fortunate enough to actually meet her in Houston in the early 90’s when I worked at Six Flags and she was so sweet and gracious.

****note**** Shanice since you read this site, know that one of my most prominent memories in life is that night in Houston. I just remember standing on the steps of the ampitheater in the light rain next to the love of my life who had recently broken it off with me, and watching you on stage SANG THE STANK OUT OF “I’M CRYING”. One of the most moving experiences of my entire life that I will never forget.

# 51, Kelly Price actually lives in Houston now (and is a member of my church by the way). There is a song on the radio that is in heavy rotation by Jeff Majors that Kelly is featured on called “Gods Gift”.

Kelly is another that far from gets the props she deserves for being a great vocalist.

I LOOOOOOOVE SHANICE!!!!! I’ve been a fan of hers since I was a kid! I remember a long time ago when I was a kid I heard she was gonna be at the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade. So I got up EARLY (and i dont get up early on days I dont have to!), got dressed and went to the start of the parade so I could meet her before the parade. But she was already on the float :o(

So I walked in the parade til the end..in the POURING RAIN, just to meet her. I must have walked 50 blocks! I was soaked and my bangs went from straight to nappy! But it was worth it cuz she was SOOOOOOOO NICE TO ME! We took pictures together and everything! that was one of the best days of my life!

I just got back from lunch and heard the song on WHUR (Washington,DC) so she’s definitely getting airtime. Maybe the program managers over there read the loop and decided it was high time. I say this because before today I never heard that song on the station and I listen to them ALL the time. Who knew?

And asbury’s right. She definitely has octave range. Turn Down the Lights is one of my favorite love songs of all time (video was banging too with Johnny Morton).

Shanice is one of the baddest singers I’ve ever heard.
