SOMEBODY SLAP BARBARA WALTERS ALREADY!

Wednesday, July 19, 2006

I’m sick of her old wrinkly ass. Instead of worrying about which “sista’s” hair is real or fake, she needs to worry about that wack ass show she is hosting. I’m glad Brandy and that other woman had some class, and didn’t get real with her. I don’t think I could have sat there and let her try to make a mockery out of me though. The old hag needs to retire already. That is all..

WTF is going on - I got pissed after seeing the clips on YOu Tube and have to say they are obviously vicariously trying to live out their dreams of embarassing Star in this fashion.

I can’t believe she had her hands all up in their hair like that. Plus her questioning the authenticity of their hair in my opinion was not only a little racist but also inappropriate. Like the person said earlier, I doubt she would question people like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson and etc. and those chicks rock weave too. Barbara Walters is an educated woman who I’m sure has been immersed in various types of cultures. She should know better.

Black women,

You all have know one to fault but yourselves on how white society, especially white women, view you. I can’t seem to understand the reasoning for 85% of all Black women in the U.S. to wear hair extensions. Can’t you all realize that it’s only feeding a mockery stereotypical image of you all to where the Koreans that sell that garbage and white women don’t have to indulge in buying hair extensions, thus leaving them with the “Superior” attitude because their hair is naturally longer. I know some white women wear weave but not as much as black women. What’s wrong with you all wearing your hair natural ? Hair weave has been the biggest ‘image-tainter’ to black women more than it helped with the actual image. Hair weave has led to a lot of “Ghetto Looking” styles from red long ponytails to weave jobs that look simply like wigs. And white people categorize us any way. So when they see one ‘ghetto’ hairdo done by weave they think the weave itself,no matter how conservative you may wear it, is ghetto. Don’t you all want to feel confident whenever you’re out and not have to worry about a track or glue showing. And not having to get your bought hair stitched-in for another healthy price. As in the weave isn’t cheap itself. It’s time to get it together Black women. Believe it or not, that’s one of the reasons why Black men date outside of their race. Peace !

# 22
Whether I wear a weave or natural it’s NO ONE’S business but my own. How the hell does anyone know whether a white woman is wearing a weave unless she tells you, the texture of most hair is similar to what they already have. So that more Blacks then whites wearing weave shit can go leap out the fuckin window.
Not only that if Bonquisha wants to rock a purple and green weave who the hell are you to tell her she shouldn’t. People are like walking contradictions, one minute it’s be happy within your self and not care what anyone thinks of you then it’s what will the white people say. I say fuck white, fuck you and anyone else I can think of. I don’t live to make others happy and I also don’t wear a wave but if I wanted to I could and wouldn’t care what anyone thought of me.

As for Barbara Walters, I don’t fault her, no one has slapped the shit outta her yet so she thinks it’s okay to do what she’s doing.

#22 whyte gulrz wear weave just as much as the sistas maybe even more bcuz that’s all them whyte people be wearing to get their hair fuller or thicker,ur assuming bcuz they’re whyte that they automatically have long hair that’s not the case just cuz they whyte don’t mean their hair is long u would be surprised how many whyte gurls put tracks in they head. u going all off the subject we didn’t need or want a sermon, even though i respect ur opinion.

oh if u get ur weave done the right way u won’t have to worry about ur tracks and glue showing secondly i think i speak for every black woman on here when i say i don’t give a damn about what people think of me and neither should anybody else my mom always told me if i bought it it’s mine!!! u need to get it together it seems like you’ve been brainwashed or something! and if a man has to date outside his race bcuz of hair he has the problem. we all wear weave for different reasons everybody is different.

39.

Nandi

Thursday, July 20, 2006 /

@22 Shame on you.

First Brandy should have said: This is my hair. She bought it with her own money, therefore it is hers.

Or she should have taken that opportunity and change it,into her own favour by advertising her weave line and tell people to buy it.

This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!
Black women hair is difficult to maintain and since the early age where I come from in Africa, we do braids for convenience and for fashion as it is part of our culture. It isn’t ghetto and we are not ghetto. It’s beauty and symbolise a lot of things : weddings ,funeral ,engagement each event has a hair style and that’s what makes our culture unique. And why should we just stop wearing weaves or braids just because some white women are jealous that black women are looking beautiful? All that The View is doing is to hit back on Star, using black women randomly on the show and try to show to millions of people that black women don’t have any hair, and I can‘t understand why they keep agreeing to appear on that show, it’s very obvious that she is a racist. Whoever will replace Star if black shouldn’t think that she would be treated better. Do you think that she would try that on Oprah or Beyonce ? I don’t think so. Someone needs to give her a lesson, just because she’s vomiting her jealousy on TV doesn’t mean white men will stop dating black women .My boyfriend is white and I had experienced similar behaviours from some of his friends and I sent them packing. We do have hair, and I’m proud of my hair and my entire look as a black woman, I won’t change it for anything. We are living a new era, where everything goes fast, who has time to sit down and go through painful comb drying to make your hair look presentable?
Tell me if I go with my natural afro hair at work, will I not be fired the same day? I don’t know which kind of job you do but in my work place, smart is the code dress, and my afro hair isn’t considered smart by my white boss.
I’m proud of my natural hair but necessity calls for innovation and that’s when weave and braids come in handy. White, Asian women don’t need that; their hair produces oil ,making it softer unlike ours.
Besides if it was a shameful thing to do why all the white women are wearing weaves nowadays, nonsense !!!!!Barbara is a stupid racist and she’s trying to hit on Black women but that ain’t gonna work. Her driven psychic programme to put black women down won’t succeed, she couldn’t attack Star Jones who is an articulate, intelligent, successful in her own rights and we all black women have to do the same, we will go to school ,get our degrees and be successful. There will be many Oprah, Maya Angelou etc……..
That’s the only revenge to people like Barbara, when they can’t hit our brain.

That fuckin ignorant ass bitch. I’ve always disliked Barbara. You can smell the fake shit a mile away. Oh and to the “special” poster. TRUST ME, when I say that white women women wear just as much, if not MORE weave than we do. I live in one of the whitest areas in the country and used to work at a beauty store. 9 out of 10 of the CAUCASIAN women purchased weave hair. And that’s not an exaggeration, that’s mostly the only reason they came in there.

I was wondering how that natural sister got her hair like that. It looked GREAT. Brandy’s hair looked great too and you could tell she was thinking “I can’t believe this cracker just asked me that” as if Barbara’s ass didn’t already know. Hell she could use some tracks in that flat mane herself.

Anyway I’m cool on this show. I agree that the token black girl ain’t the way to go. I don’t watch anyway so..

so i wrote barbara a letter cuz i couldn’t just sit by and watch my favorite singer ever get humiliated on national tv…here’s what i wrote:

Hello Barbara,

I must say that I’m highly disappointed in your recent actions on your show, especially toward the African-American guests you’ve been having as well as your response to Star Jones’ exit. One would think that after so many years of your experience, you’d have more tact, restraint, and common courtesy to know better than to pull on anyone’s hair, let alone an African American. You can clearly see that Brandy and Tanika Ray were very uncomfortable with your actions as any woman should be. I understand how the television industry works and that sometimes in order to gain ratings, one will do something a little unorthodox. But again, someone of your caliber should have broadened her mind to find something else to bring out that shock value.

Also, just so you know, not only African-American women wear weaves or wigs. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and really just about every other Caucasian female pop/rock star wears extensions, wigs, and weaves for videos, photo shoots, red-carpets, and performances. It saddens me to think that you probably wouldn’t have pulled on Jessica Simpson’s hair to find out if it was real, simply because of ignorance.

Honestly, I’m glad Star left the show. I wouldn’t see how anyone would be able to deal with meticulous, watered down racism another moment. Maybe instead of searching for another black woman to co-host, how about just searching for a woman?

47.

Thursday, July 20, 2006 /

@ 22, please don’t make excuses for why you ‘date outside of your race.’ You’re probably just ugly as hell and insecure, and no decent woman wants your corny ass. Track or glue showing?, are you serious?! You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about (which I figured since the very beginning with your grammar issue in the first damn sentence). Get a grip and sit down, “naturally longer?” Once again are you serious? Ignorance really IS bliss.

The View sucks and when I watched it Monday with guest host Kelly Pickler, it was all love and laughter at the table. They didn’t criticize her, and they fed into any comment she made. It was annoying and sad because there was such a big difference and feel from when they have the black hosts. They should stop fronting and go with what they really want, a young, naive, silly, white female.

Why is Barbara trying to act brand new? After years with Star Jones she shouldnt have any questions about a black womans hair. I hope she doesnt get alot of white women slapped because if a bitch approach me she will regret it. I’m a house wife I dont have a job to protect.
And I’m sorry, but I would not appear on that show any damn way. I cant believe that ppl dont see how insulting that crap is. Picking random black women to replace a qualified black woman they fired so they wont appear racist. WTF?
At all the ppl who responded to 22, its good to see women sticking up for other women even if you personally dont wear weaves. If a black man wants to date outside his race because he doesnt like our hair, then good luck to him. Let me know how that lice thing is working out for him and his wifey.

Damn, #22, whatever happened to “I am not my hair”?? I wear my hair natural and proud, and if I could make mine look like that second lady’s every day, I would. But the black guys I have dated in the past have told me that they don’t like straightened or unnatural hair. I don’t get it. I had a fine, fine friend from the Caribbean who said the same thing. He only wanted a girl with natural hair. He wore his hair in dreadlocks, but I never saw him date a sister with dreads once. And mind you, he didn’t look at the black girls with thick, kinky natural hair like mine. Oh no. He liked the asian girls, the white girls, and the super light skinned black/latin girls with wavy, not curly locks. So the lesson I got from him was that dudes who say that they don’t like weaves or relaxed hair, really mean that they prefer women with naturally straight, or not afro-textured dos. Which means that they don’t really want to date real black women. So my point is, just come clean, be honest, and SAY that you have a racial or ethnic preference, and stop hiding behind the hair issue.

I have had many a white person touch my hair. To which I say, I ain’t your damn poodle. I don’t like to be petted. Nor have I ever had the impulse to touch a white woman’s hair, and ask her questions about it. The most insulting thing that ever happened to me is, in college a redheaded country-ass girl from south carolina asked me in front of a large group of people, “do you wash your hair?” Needless to say, I let her know where to get off with that line of questioning. Some people are just ignorant to an incomprehensible degree.

#22-

You are catching hell because you are commenting on things that I believe you can’t back up. By saying, black men date outside of their race because of the way a BLACK WOMAN wears her hair is simply, YOUR OPINION! No one is blaming white people for anything because we all know, white people are nosey by nature (at least that is my opinion!). The thing is, WE (I am in your “85%”) don’t have to justify wearing weave and contrary to your belief, white women are wearing just as much weave as black women (Best friend is a WEAVE CONSULTANT and she has just as many white customers!)Let me guess, you probably have a problem with perms too? You would have too since we are trying to “straighten” our hair like “white women!” (Please know that I don’t believe that statement, just proving a point to you!) So, before you start passing judgement on 85% of black women, you might want to check you stats next time to be sure! It sounds like you have had a terrible weave job before (the track and glue showing) and I am sorry for your bad experience and maybe that is why you are so hell bent on boycotting weave! And don’t get it twisted, I have worn my own hair plenty of times, I just like the fact of knowing, I can change it up anytime I get ready and my husband loves it too! He loves the fact that his wife has so many different looks (NONE GHETTO EITHER MY DEAR!) and can change it up @ the drop of a dime (THATS CALLED, KEEPING IT NEW!). I am really sorry for whatever led you to believe those comments you made but my dear and I wish that you would give weave another try!

Thursday, July 20, 2006 /

Lovin it!!!!! Ya’ll aint playing with this post, nice to see women defending one another and calling out the blatant racist treatment that’s being displayed on this show.

I laugh at comments made by other races in regards to black women and their hair, skin, fashion sense etc., because I know that it’s hatin, thus motivated by jealousy. I say to myself, damn I must be looking good.

Why is it that america is so obsessed with black women? We are obviously a threat, personally I wouldn’t waste my time and energy being concerned about a white women’s hair or fashion sense, why-because I don’t care. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a racist, but I refuse to explain something so trivial as my hair care and beauty regimen because it is simply none of their business.

Keep ya heads up black women, ****all women ****
this is just another ploy to keep us divided.

About this hair bs… I’m Mexican and white and lemme tell you… I have NEVER and never would put my hands in a sistas hair OR ask if it’s real… for one, it’s none of my damn business… two, it’s just rude… I can guarantee you that most white people are just jealous and that’s why they get that stary-eyed “fascinated” look and want to ask questions… it’s obvious that they didn’t get any hometraining and I personally wouldn’t take that shit… I wonder how they would feel if sistas went around grabbing their noses or breasts and asking if they’re real… or furthermore, pointing at their flat asses proped up in a designer pair of Sevens and ask if THAT’S real!! pahlease… this shit makes me mad… you know my son is mixed, and I really noticed this when I cut his hair off… he has soft, curly, brown hair, and yeah it was cute but he was pullin it out and eatin it, and he was starting to go half bald… so I gave him a fade… good lord, you would have thought I cut the child’s arm off the way people acted, and I’m like damn, it was half gone and it’s the summer, shit it’s 110 degrees today, if I was him I wouldn’t want that mess on my head… lol… it reminds me of the book “Whoreson” when the cats in the barber shop were making fun of Whoreson’s mom because she would never let them cut his hair… they teased that it’s always the mamas of the mixed babies that’s like “just take a little off the top”…. LOL!!! reefuckingdiculous…

On another note, I wouldn’t go thinkin white/Latinas are so happy about their hair. I would love to be able to rock some braids (and not look like a damn fool) esp during the hot ass summer. Funny shit @ whoever said the thing about lice.. that is SO true… when I was 20 I was in jail for a couple weeks (I know, I know, young dumn n fulla …), anyway, my girl Dawn put corn rows in my hair for me so I wouldn’t catch lice from all the infested ass broads that came from downtown… man that place was gross!!! you could see all the dirty white girls pickin bugs out of their hair… and to whoever said the thing about “natural” oils… I don’t think hair was meant to get “that” oily… sometimes that shit is just out of control… I can wash my hair and use just a lilbit of conditioner, and if it’s hot like today… I’ll go outside and walk my shit will be dripping, then when it dries it looks all nasty, and I damn near wanna go wash my shit again… I wish I had to actually ADD oil to my hair… where the hell do you think hairspray and mousse came from? it ain’t just to hold hair up… they put that shit in to cover GREASE (I personally don’t use those products)… cuz a gang of oil don’t look right in soft hair so if they make it crunchy or “shiny” then it doesn’t look so bad…

anywhoo… and finally to the ol fake out ass brotha pokin his head in our girltalk using Barbara’s ignorance as a platform to say why brothas don’t date sistas… i’ll tell you why right now… because you’re cowards and you don’t want a female who will pull your WHOLE card about the bullshit you do… trust me, I’ve heard too many damn times how a dude can’t fuck with me because I remind him of his mama or I have too much “attitude”… it has nothing to do with skin color or hair weaves… it has to with dreaming vs. reality and the fact that so many brothas (and sistas) have been brainwashed to the point that they can’t even see the complete breakdown of the black family going on in front of them, and if they did they wouldn’t care enough to do something about it… I don’t have a problem with race mixing (obviously), cuz people are people, but I do have a HUGE problem with people who say they will ONLY date outside their race… that is crazy… and that goes for females too… I always hear females dog out dudes for dating white girls, but if a sista dates a white boy everybody is like “go ahead then”… it’s just wack… until brothas and sistas wake up and decide that the most important thing in this life and the next is family unity and that black people need to stick together… “white girls” (cuz that’s what ya’ll would look at me and say) will have a nice selection of fine men to choose from to make pretty babies with and make this world a little browner and stronger… so fuck it… either way us girls win! ;.)

The nerve of this ole’ “Crypt Keeping” bitch. She’s pushing 80 working on her 10th face lift and has the nerve to disrespect African American Women hair. I think we should all have a Rosa Parks moment and boycott that tired ass show. Without Star it doesn’t have the same flava’, hate or love Star she did add the hot sauce to those bland broads. If yall wanna air this old ancient disrespectful closet racist bitch out just go to this website abc.go.com/daytime/theview/ and click on Barbara.
Next Pam Anderson, Fish Lip LEA RENA FROM DAnCING WITH THE STARS and THE “Soaps channel”, JESSICA SIMPSON, Britney Spears,Paris Hilton, COCO ICE T’S WIFE and all those white chicks with FAKE TITS, FAKE HAIR, FAKE LIPS, FAKE TANNED COMPLEXIONS, AND FAKE BOOTIES OR BOOTY ENHANCERS(DAMN THATS alots of FAKERY) to look good and normal. When they appears on The View with more spare junk than FRED SANFORD JUNKYARD, I bet ya Barb won’t come at their necks and tug on them like a science experiment because she knows they aint having that shit and that will be their last appearance. Going under the knife trying to acheive beauty is far more worst than adding a few tracks….YA DIG…PEACE

After all the people she’s interviewed in her life time, you’d think she’d have a little more respect than to grab at someone’s hair! Ignorant woman. Just another white person who probably felt they never had to learn about any one else’s culture, then goes over the top to ask a question which has nothing to do about anything. WACK A$$ SHOW!!!

Everyone makes a little grammatical error while typing or writing. But I should’ve known better. Now, I’ve read some very interesting comments. But I’m still left in the dark on why so many black women choose not to wear their hair naturally. Maybe my partiality is stemming from my female family members only wearing their real hair. My comments were not intended to be disparaging. But they were intentionally worded with a disrespectful overtone so that you all could read this and become more self-confident about your image. What is the sole purpose for wearing hair extensions ? A different look ? Wanting longer hair ? Hair too short and uneven ? Weave = sexiness ? I just don’t get it. What I have learned and seen is that Black women, as with Black men, from the West Indies hair tends to have more texture and balance, leaving some to call it ‘good hair.” Black women in the U.S. and from the Carribean both share the same commom ancestor. Although diet and climate may have something to do with the skin tone and hair texture of Carribean women, there is no reason for Black women to not take care of their hair in a more traditional way. No perms. Just wash and condition. If this was done over 200 years ago, white bitches like Barbara Walters wouldn’t scoff at Black hair.
