Diddy – Gettin’ Off (full) – download
Lord of the Dance, Diddy is coming out with a new album that is supposedly filled with dance music. Guess he’s getting back to his roots. I’m digging the live band and call and response feel of the song. It’s sort of hot. The little bit of piano that appears in the song gives it an eerie feel, it’s sort of haunting, but I love it. I just kind of feel like the song is missing something. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I think it’s lyrics! I’m not sure whether the quality of the microphone was intentional or if this isn’t a full version.
Lupe Fiasco – I Gotcha (full) – download
Really digging Lupe and I always love a Pharrell joint so this song is just butter for me. It sort of reminds me of the new stuff that The Neptunes have been doing, but with a touch of the old school (their stuff from 2001 and back). Lupe’s flow is just sick over the beat. I’m glad that this song leaked so people can squash the rumors had Lupe and Pharrell beefing.
Sammie – Mission Impossible (snippet) – download
Aw, Sammie’s taking it back with the talking at the beginning of the track. I’m joking. But anyhow, I’ve recieved a pack with a couple of Sammie snippets, all of which are either midtempo or ballads. This happened to be one of my favorites. Sammie’s album seems to be taking for slowly the leaking of all these new songs.
Lea – I’m Gone (full) – download
More songs from the hook girl from Lil’ Flip’s “Sunshine.” I haven’t heard anything much about her album or any buzz about her at all. Out of the songs that have leaked from her, this is my least favorite. I do like the production – the piano sample is really hot, but I’m not really fond of the lyrics, they just seem really predictable. I prefer the Corner Boyz productions from her much better to this.
