   Someone said “I think (DING) and her mother despised their nationality when they dismissed being african american and referred to themselves as: “CREOLE”. ” That is not true. Creoles know more about their African ancestors in American than most blacks. There is a pride Creoles have always had in being both AFRICAN and French, not just American, and there is nothing wrong with it. Remember, Louisiana didn’t ask to become a state of American in the first place.
