MiMi do you have Chamillionaires album? If you dont you should go get it. He is one of the very few good (and versatile) rappers out. He just doesnt rap about grills and “candy paint.” He talks about his parents being muslim, and christian, how he grew up and how he turned his situation around. He is very humble, and he takes care of his family. But I do agree, that Hip Hop is dead. It’s more about “bling bling,” then the artistry of the music. And that is such a shame. Oh yeah, I’am watching the VMA’s, and this show is TERRIBLE!

Performance wise, i liked Bey’s, JT’s was iight, and i liked the tribute to Hype when they played some of the ‘classics” and Busta & Missy came out…Also noticed that Busta didnt win anything, he looked kinda disappointed too!

Overall, nothing to talk about..IMO. There wasnt even really a ‘big suprising moment’ like most awards have e.g Fantasia’s & Jamie Foxx’s kiss on the BET awards. For me my surprise came from who actually won these awards!

I read on CNN that the VMA’s sucked. My 16 year old son only had good things to say about Beyonce Giselle, and her performance, but what else do you expect from a teenage boy? I’ll have to catch it on a rerun to form my own opinion, but I’m not looking forward to it after hearing so much disappointment from everyone.

Beyonce had the best performance of the night. And only lip sync the chours she sang the verses and the Ring the Alarm part live and also hit that note perfect. Janet did NOT event that. She did the Matrix which was more sexy then Janet and she can actually sing. Unlike Janet. The performance was the shit so stop hating. She didn’t go crazy on stage, like most complained about. Performance went with song and it was HOT!! People need to stop hating and give props. She could have opened and closed the show. Christina A. can sing but it was a snooze fest after Beyonce’s performance. And she won!!!!

I watched last night and saw a hilarious commercial when the woman was smoking in the car and the guy got out and let out a long fart. That was too funny. And did anyone see the look on Jay’s face when Slim thug came up and kissed Beyonce on the cheek before they went on stage to get the award? And who was that chick putting Paris Hilton on blast?. I watched, but flipped in between channels because there was too much rock and roll for me. Then, some guy from one of those bands had the nerve to say that MTV needs to play more Rock and Roll. If they did, it would be an all rock and roll channel.
