What tracks are hot? I like Toya’s first single, it defintely grew on me. But I am not crazy about her voice, it bothers me after a while.

Something like her mother never told her so she wouldn’t be ridiculed…I think the mother was played by the black woman who used to be on that show the practice. Can’t remember that movie’s name, but she was quite convincing. I like her acting.

Its a bit early to call her album a commercial hit but I’m happy to see her succeed. I think the girl has a lot of class for not stooping to the level of the Knowles. She could have blasted them publicly but she didn’t and for that I have a lot of respect for her cuz I myself probably would have put both of them on blast. It would have been so easy for her to start a public war of words with them, that MTV would follow intently (a la 50 cent and Eminem), to help promote her album.
This is an example of a young lady with class and whether she is commercially successful or not it seems like she is doing what makes her happy and in the end that’s what counts.

Her album is the bomb, but she’s can’t sing. She’s another Ashanti, something new to rock to, but will bomb in the end. Good luck to her though.

Why do people compare her to Ashanti? Ashanti has ZERO strength in her voice, zero stage presence, and can’t do what Toya does vocally in “Torn”. Ashanti’s voice is extra monotonous, not Toya’s.

Not to mention that Toya sounds like the CD live unlike Ashanti and doesn’t overuse the word “baby”.

Im happy for ‘Toya but i heard the album all the way thru, and it was just mediocre talent for me, she doesn’t have the best voice out. I think it’s sad when artists come out and they don’t have the total package and singing is something that should come along with it. Basically ‘Toya can sing but she can’t sing and her voice right now is just limited and average.

She appears to be more down to earth and less superficial than some other artists, I get the same vibe from people like Toya, Alicia Keys, even Kyshia Cole as crazy as she is, she is down to earth and keeps it real, I like that in an artist.
