The Janet track has potential, I’m sure a clean up in production and a great video would be enough to make it a hot track!!!

The Omarion track is …. a typical Omarion track he needs to shakes things up abit or he will become one of the forgotten ones.

Rhianna’s track….I was apprehensive because I absolutely HATE her current single…UNFAITHFUL…its garbage….her vocals don’t work with the song. But this song is nice.

D-D-D-D-Damn! I never listened to a Johnta Austin song. That man is very talented. He sounds really good and groomed on the track. I like Rihanna’s song it could be sang a little better. Omarion’s song is cool, and Janet’s song I can’t quite hear it well enough to give a thorough opinion. It sounds like some Cassie or something from what I can hear.

Well I love the song. To correct Brian the DJ did the shout outs to keep it exclusive. The DJ that did that was JD on his show on V-103. He even stated that he talked all over it so bootleggers and radio stations wouldn’t have a field day with it. Perhaps the naysayers will like it when the hear it in a higher quality and without the shoutouts.

Sadly, thats the truth. I was listening to tracks on Rhythm Nation, janet. Velvet Rope (and even Damita Jo) and her voice is SO much clearer and pleasant. She was louder, and it just sounded better…overall.

You’re thinking of the remix to ‘I Get Lonely’ w/ Blackstreet. The original version doesnt have the duet, but yeah. Both we’re popular. I used to love the breakdown part, and everytime it came on the radio I’d pretend I was singing with them…lol

@88 Pon de Replay is a watered down version of real dancehall/reggae to appease the American listeners. Its essentially pop music.
And if she sings only reggae no one will buy her music. This album is less reggae than the first and has done way better. The previous female reggae artists who have had hits never tried to do anything other than reggae, hence their brief careers.
She was never a reggae artist, she’s Bajan, they sing soca there, but the best way to introduce her to America was to use a reggae/dancehall flavoured song. The plan all along was to make her into a pop artist.

Pon de Replay was cute but I consider it sacrilege to call it reggae. Americans are fickle when it comes to music and if she stuck with “reggae”, she would be back home right now
