THE NEW MUSIC REVIEW

Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSound (full) - download
I’m sorry, but Justin Timberlake is seriously coming with heat on this next album. I’m very excited. Snippets from the album have leaked, along with the three full tracks (”SexyBack,” “My Love” and now this). Timbaland and Justin are a winning combination, I only wish that he had the oppurtunity to hook up with The Neptunes again. However, I’m eager to hear what he came up with working Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and hip-hop producer Rick Rubin. This song is definitely hot, and again, finds Justin using that “Justified” falsetto.

Brooke Valentine feat. Dem Franchize Boyz - Pimped Out (full) - download
Miss Valentine’s first single, “D-Girl” came out earlier this summer and I haven’t heard anything about her new album, “Physical Education.” But two new songs have leaked recently, one being this one. Nothing much to say about it, it doesn’t do much for me, but I guess it’s friendly for mainstream radio and could pop off in the club. Again, I’m just tired of the whole Franchize Boyz snap thing. They can’t be on everything that comes out for the rest of 2006.

Tank - Love Machine (full) - download
I really love Tank. His music is great and he is just a really well-rounded artist. He does production, he writes, arranges vocals and he has a great voice. I said all that to say that I can’t believe that I’m a little disappointed in this song. I will always support Tank as an artist but this doesn’t reflect his past music or his talent, really. It sounds like just a radio-friendly so that he decided to put out. But honestly, it doesn’t even seem single-worthy.

Kelis - Trilogy (full) - download
My favorite song on Kelis’s new album, “Kelis Was Here,” which dropped Tuesday. This song is randomly produced by Scott Storch, which I really couldn’t tell until I read the liner notes. This is one song from that album where Kelis’s vocal performance does not disappoint. I love the production on Kelis’s album. It’s just something about that voice that really gets to me.

The chorus in the justin track reminds me of The film Scarface’s in-film music soundtrack

I like the Kelis and Justin tracks.

I love Tank with his sexy ass but I’m not feeling this song.

The Brooke song is trash. If I hear one more damn snap song…Gotdammit! I wish I could snap my fingers and get rid of that shit. Dem Franchize Boyz are so fuckin corny.
