AOL debuted Mary’s new video for her third single ‘Take Me As I Am’. Its a great video with a cool concept and it reminds me of some of the past videos from Mary.

Angel.La love the pic. Mary is the bomb. There was a comment that said Mary was still Ghetto Trash. Some people never can let you forget your past especially when you have gotten that behind you. She has overcome and lessons can be learned from her. Keep doing your thing Mary.

I’m not really a fan of Mary J - as I think most times she sings out of tune. But I must say that I do like the song and the video. This is more within her vocal range. I also liked the darker colour hair on Mary in one part of the video, it gave her a more mature look.

Very good song and video. Mary needs to teach a class because a lot of these so-called, “artists” could really learn something.

Ever since “What’s the 411?” dropped I have loved Mary and to see how far she’s come is amazing. She continues to speak to every woman’s heart through her songs. She is definitely our generations Aretha Franklin and she’s still doing the damn thang. I LOVE YOU MARY!

Wouldn’t this be her 4th Single after “One”? She had a video, promoted the hell out of that song, but black radio wouldn’t play a Mary track w/ U2 on it. Shame, that was probably her best vocal performance on the album.

Mary killed it and whoever got something negative to say, your opinion will NEVER matter, Mary is here to stay and is a LEGEND/ICON and she doesn’t follow others and not trying to please anyone but her DIE HARD fans, it’s better than ALL yall favorite gimmick artists videos and her vocals are superb and her Dalls concert proved that, if you haven’t seen Mary LIVE, you will NEVER EVER understand the meaning of a TRUE artist and singer and thats the bottom line! She is the ONLY REAL female singer in R&B that stays consistent and keeps touching millions all around the world, NONE can comapre to her, hate it or love it! This is MARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY!

I really like this video because Mary represents women who face various struggles throughout their life and careers and I’m really feeling the fact she wanted to express to us that this song and video was for all women that go through the bullshit. Aside from that she has also expressed that people should accept you for who you are and not for who they want you to be and if they cant do that well to hell with them.

Almost 100 posts and 99% are positive. This only proves that the bulk of CL is not made up of negative haters, as some people would have you believe. The’yre actually intelligent folks who speak the truth, minus a dumbass here and there, and know when something is bullshit.
Now, on to my comments: tight video; it’s different and she ain’t tryin to be no sexpot like the rest of these young heffers and hoes that gotta be half nekked or booty poppin to sell a half a mil.

I loooovvvveeee this version of “Take Me As I Am” From what I heard, this is how she sings it on tour. Even though I really wanted her to release “Good Woman Down”, I now think she made the right choice with this song. The video is good too. It’s like a mixture of “No More Drama”, “Love Is All We Need”, “Enough Cryin’”, and “It’s a Wrap”. I’m proud to say that I’ve been a fan of Mary’s since the very beginning.

I agree with whoever said that they were almost a Mary stan. When I saw that, I thought to myself, “D@mmit, so am I.” Like ya’ll said, Mary has been puttin it down since “What’s the 411.” And she’s still going strong. She’s grown way past that “Queen of hip hop soul” stuff. Like someone said, Mary is the Queen of R&B.

To my dude Network…….The record was written as a “GROUP” effort (group, meaning “The Clutch!”) Don’t get me wrong, No one is a bigger fan of Keri than I…….feel me on that. I have song on Keri that go back farther than “Hey Ya” by Xizibit. Check the credits; there is more than one writer on this joint…………but I do agree the record is an anthem for women that have prevailed as well as women that are “enroute” to their success.

@120…..cheezits said:
Someone break it down for me. What is this song trying to say, as portrayed in the video? I am asking an honest question.
I hear you, this is my take. MAry’s theme is standing up for yourself and telling the world respect and accept “ALL OF ME” or KIM (keep it moving). All of the characters get fed up with the same elements in life holding them down. You know, someone is always trying to take advantage of them and disrespecting who they are professionally, personally, etc. From the business executive to the struggling mother with a low-wage job MARY plays these roles b/c any of these women could have been Mary. All the characters have the same stuggles with accepting who they are and finding the courage to tell the world forget YOU, this is me. For example, the business exec stands up against sexual harrassment from the white male exec trying to feel on her booty and over-ride her authority w/ using the white model over the black model. Mary Gains back her repsect by putting his ass in check and not allowing herself to get down and rise up against the disrespect. The waitress also gets fed up on the job. After her boss yells and disrespects her she rises up and quits her job and quits her lazy man at home who sleeps all damn day instead of getting a JOB and helping out w/ the household responsibilities. He trife and she finally finds the stentgh to kick him out. She tell him off b/c she fed up w/ him taking advantage of her. The supermodel tells the world fuck all of ya’l this is me by overdosing on drugs and taking her pain out that way. And the girlfriend stands up to her over-controlling cheating boyfriend by throwing the drink on his cheating face and finaling standing up aginst him and choosing MAry over him. This video is about respect and doing you regardless. The supermodel scene is unfortunate, but it stays on the theme b/c some people feel suicide is only way the world will notice them and understand who they are. Not everyone is stong enough to weather the storm, but the supermodel character was the one who was fed up and choose to hurt herself instead of rising above the situation. The other characters do the exact opposite and weather the storm in their own way. Mary is humble enough to relate to ALL of these women and show how all of these women are connected to her. Mary cu=ould have been the business exec, waitress/mother, drugged out suppermodel, or cheated on girlfriend. In someway and at the end of the day we all struglle with loving ourselves, respecting who we are, and mustering up enough strength to ride tall in the saddle. Many of us will overcome, some of us may not, but it comes down to respecting who we are and knowing that we are children of GOD and are worthy of respect.

Another chick joint . I’m tired of seeing these video about a women struggle . Like men don’t go through shit . You can put a man in each one of those scenerios . But that wouldn’t appeal to the 18 to 35 black women dimigragh ! Last time anyone of you accept a man for who he was ( without the desire to change something ).

I’m a dude, but a huge Mary fan. Even though she more so caters to women, I still can switch around her lyrics so that it can reflect me. This video has to be one of the best videos I have seen in recent years. the emotion that is poured in this video is groundbreaking.
If she doesn’t win some grammy’s this february we needa strike. Because without the release of the ‘ Breakthrough ‘, a lot of us would be lost !
