MOS DEF ARRESTED OUTSIDE VMAS
Mos Def was arrested for disorderly conduct after an unauthorized performance outside the VMA’s. Before police took action, Mos Def performed “Katrina Clap” described as a freestyle indictment of the Bush administration’s slow response to last year’s hurricane victims in New Orleans.
Mos Def, according to authorities, stopped off at RCMH in a flatbed truck around 10 p.m. for an impromptu show for the audience gathered there. An NYPD spokesperson said officers asked him and members of his entourage to shut it down.
But before police took action, Mos Def performed “Katrina Clap,” described as a freestyle indictment of the Bush administration’s slow response to last year’s hurricane victims in New Orleans.
A source told MTV that officers then approached the rapper demanding the operation be stopped immediately (on the grounds that a permit had not been issued). The order wasn’t communicated to Mos Def immediately, so the rapper didn’t end his performance right away, the source said. Police then began making arrests, including the rapper, his entourage and his brother [SOURCE].

and janet needs to let it go… yeah justin could have handled things better from his end, but at least the dude didn’t wait 2 or 3 days to comment to the press. janet was AWOL…then finally released a video statement. if it was truly an accident, i would have been in the press room immediately.

I barely watch MTV as it is (only for special performances such as Thursday night’s VMAs). MTV, along with BET, has become pretty weak in my opinion. But banning Janet Jackson is just ridiculous. Any respect I had for MTV is gone. What she did is not even that serious. And once again, Justin is just as responsible but he hasn’t had the pay for it like she has. It’s just now fair. MTV sucks!

What Mos Def did was brave and spontaneous! More power to the brother for standing up for his beliefs. If more people took issue to the Hurricane Katrina disaster, maybe we’d have quicker results.
Note to Gina: There are more than 2 political parties in the US. There are at least 9 that I can think of. If you research enough you should be able to find a party that lines up with your views. Hey, if not, this is America I’m sure you could assemble enough folks to start yet another.
