Someone should have told her it was not a good idea. In principal, it seems sweet. But it makes her look like she is trying 2 hard to be “normal” and it just comes off looking 2 much like the publicity stunt that it is. I’m not mad at her for trying something different but it would have been better to pop up at a public school or something.

Beyonce can do all the train riding she wants…. she can ride the 2-train all the way from the Bronx to Wall Street…. but there aren’t enough MetroCards in the MTA system to keep me from saying that “B-Day” is some of the worst produced hot garbage I heard so far this year (and I’ve heard quite a few bad albums). This has nothing to do with a “sophomore jinx”. (She’s beyond that — she’ll always have earning potential as an artist). This just isn’t that great an album. If “Dangerously in Love” was an 8.5, “B-Day” is a 4.5…. and I’m being generous here.

Yeah, Bee on the B train. That’s an obvious promotion; don’t think they were trying to hide that one. Anyway, I’ve been listening to B-Day all week and I’m absolutely beginning to LOVE some of the songs.
B-Day is mos def a female empowerment type of cd. Which, to me, is a very welcome change from women being referred to as b!tches and hoes on so many songs over the last few years. Once you hear the cd, you begin to understand why she now has an all female band and a female director doing her videos.
I’ve never been a huge Beyonce fan but I’ve always been an advocate of music that women can embrace, and relate to, and sing along with, knowing that they’ve been there, done that.
Pardon me ya’ll, that was my English teacher side coming out.
As for my Badgyrl side, all I can say is that Upgrade U nearly blew out the sound system in my car, it was banging so hard. I love it!
