Janet is world reknown. All she has to do is make an appearance to an event and ratings go up. That’s what you call a true superstar. Not many of today’s stars in training have that star quality no matter good you think they are. The same can be said for her brother Michael, though we haven’t heard music from him in a minute and his star quality has decrease somewhat, all he has to do is make an appearance and millions are still flocking to see him. Their concerts are always selling out all over the world. They are stand alone artists. I repeat, no many of artists of their caliber exist anymore. I agree with you #17 SOULSISTA, Janet has sold more magazine covers than any of her female alums in training. So apparently a lot of people are taking her very serious. So to the haters, get real, I mean really. For those who hate to see her on yet another cover or hear her talk about her personal life, who asked you to? We all would be idiotic if we didn’t think that pictures could be altered, airbrushed, etc. However, live appearances can’t be airbrushed. Janet’s live apprearance on this year’s BET awards wasn’t airbrushed, it was her in the flesh looking as good as she ever did. She graced the stage to join a group of people she worked with as a little girl, cute then too I will say. Let’s face it, at 40 the lady still looks just as good as the young starlets bragged about today. Large or small, she is a pretty lady that’s that. As for her legend status, that had nothing to do with her famous brothers. She may have followed in their famous footsteps, But the Jackson name did not automatically equal success, if that were the case, all of the Jackson siblings would be equally successful and we know that’s not so. Her legendary career is what she crafted it to be. Since Beyonce was mentioned, let’s speak on her for a minute or two. It would come as no surprise if she becomes a legend provided the way she was able pick and choose from the silver platter she received. Let’s face it, we all know the Jacksons’ story, they had a very humble beginning. Beyonce, on the other hand, came from a middle family. Matthew had a career making 6 figures a year and living nicely during Bey’s start in the group. Joe Jackson had nothing, coming from a steel mill, living in a 2-bedroom house with seven children. You tell me who had it easier? The Jackson story has several scars in it. The Knowles story is a cinderella story in comparison. And we won’t even get into how the the other girls in the group were used as pons to get Bey where she is today. Their shoulders were definitely used as her ladder no doubt about it. Today, it would foolish to view Janet as the same person as during the Control and Rhythm Nation years, as we get older we learn new things and manifest in what we say and do. That’s life. Bottom line, Janet created her own LEGEND status, not the Jacksons.
So I guess the other Jacksons who you mentioned were not as successful- were used as Janets Pawns for her success? Regardless of your your financial background, becoming a legend is something that you do have to do on your own. When your brothers are the Jackson Five it is easy to get out there. A six figure income isnt that much money and knowing people at labels is easier then having money. Look at Ashley Simpson , Brittany’s lil sis, they all got in the game after their siblings as well as hundreds I can list, its about who you know. Having a little money helps but networking is everything. There are plenty of people in the game with rags to riches stories Half the rappers out talk about how they came up AND lots of them got put on by someone they KNEW in the game.
I agree Janet worked hard to get where she was, but she has a family of legends. I dont view Janet as the same person as those years and dont want her to be, I am referring to the QUALITY of the music. She used to change the game, now she is just blending in. Janet is world reknown. All she has to do is make an appearance to an event and ratings go up. That’s what you call a true superstar. Not many of today’s stars in training have that star quality no matter good you think they are. The same can be said for her brother Michael, though we haven’t heard music from him in a minute and his star quality has decrease somewhat, all he has to do is make an appearance and millions are still flocking to see him. Their concerts are always selling out all over the world. They are stand alone artists. I repeat, no many of artists of their caliber exist anymore. I agree with you #17 SOULSISTA, Janet has sold more magazine covers than any of her female alums in training. So apparently a lot of people are taking her very serious. So to the haters, get real, I mean really. For those who hate to see her on yet another cover or hear her talk about her personal life, who asked you to? FIRST OF ALL - the only reason Janet looks like a 20year old ( to u, not me) is because the picture is airbrushed the hell out of and she has millions of bucks so she really has no excuse to be out of shape. Plus she gets plastic surgery! Yes she is a legend, so is her family, many of these ladies coming out 2day did not have family in the business to give them an in, so it is harder to become legends!!!!! Regardless, janet is not the same Janet she used to be. Gone are the Rythmnation days. I SAW JANET AND JD at Fred Segal in LA, passed them smiled and kept shopping. DAMN why do people act like it is that hard to get in shape. GET A GYM MEMBERSHIP AND ACTUALLY DO SOME CARDIO AND WEIGHTS or walk everyday for at least 30-40 min. Get you fatas%%% off the computer and exercise. I dont get how people are in awe over her body. It is not hard to get in shape, you just have to change your lifestyle, put down the doritos, and Micky Ds and start eating healthy, organic foods. Like I said Janet has millions, and can hire trainers, meal plans, and anything else, how is it so surprising she is in the shape she is?????
Ok so she looks good for a millionaire who is 40 that has everything at her disposal. Do I have to take some pics of the 40 and 50 year olds at my gym who are killing JJ and dont need airbrush. People the images you see in this magazine is not HOW she looks .

We all would be idiotic if we didn’t think that pictures could be altered, airbrushed, etc. However, live appearances can’t be airbrushed. Janet’s live apprearance on this year’s BET awards wasn’t airbrushed, it was her in the flesh looking as good as she ever did. She graced the stage to join a group of people she worked with as a little girl, cute then too I will say. Let’s face it, at 40 the lady still looks just as good as the young starlets bragged about today. Large or small, she is a pretty lady that’s that. As for her legend status, that had nothing to do with her famous brothers. She may have followed in their famous footsteps, But the Jackson name did not automatically equal success, if that were the case, all of the Jackson siblings would be equally successful and we know that’s not so. Her legendary career is what she crafted it to be. Since Beyonce was mentioned, let’s speak on her for a minute or two. It would come as no surprise if she becomes a legend provided the way she was able pick and choose from the silver platter she received. Let’s face it, we all know the Jacksons’ story, they had a very humble beginning. Beyonce, on the other hand, came from a middle family. Matthew had a career making 6 figures a year and living nicely during Bey’s start in the group. Joe Jackson had nothing, coming from a steel mill, living in a 2-bedroom house with seven children. You tell me who had it easier? The Jackson story has several scars in it. The Knowles story is a cinderella story in comparison. And we won’t even get into how the the other girls in the group were used as pons to get Bey where she is today. Their shoulders were definitely used as her ladder no doubt about it. Today, it would foolish to view Janet as the same person as during the Control and Rhythm Nation years, as we get older we learn new things and manifest in what we say and do. That’s life. Bottom line, Janet created her own LEGEND status, not the Jacksons.

So I guess the other Jacksons who you mentioned were not as successful- were used as Janets Pawns for her success? Regardless of your your financial background, becoming a legend is something that you do have to do on your own. When your brothers are the Jackson Five it is easy to get out there. A six figure income isnt that much money and knowing people at labels is easier then having money. Look at Ashley Simpson , Brittany’s lil sis, they all got in the game after their siblings as well as hundreds I can list, its about who you know. Having a little money helps but networking is everything. There are plenty of people in the game with rags to riches stories Half the rappers out talk about how they came up AND lots of them got put on by someone they KNEW in the game.
I agree Janet worked hard to get where she was, but she has a family of legends. I dont view Janet as the same person as those years and dont want her to be, I am referring to the QUALITY of the music. She used to change the game, now she is just blending in. Thats my opinion, sorry if you diagree. I like her music and have lots of her older albums, Im just not feeling all the hype (publicity) especially with her weight, and her age 40 isnt old, you should still look decent at 40. I wanna hear the album ans see if its worth all the weight.
