For those who continue to say Janet can’t sing, well I say 50 plus million albums sold says otherwise. Each of her tours sold out worldwide, says otherwise. And yes she’s on yet another cover because she is a marketing icon. She can’t be touched. Some of these magazines have not gotten the exposure they are now enjoying until Janet graced their covers…..they are now seeing numbers they’ve haven’t seen before in sales. These magazines were smart go get her on their because they want to jump on the US magazing record sales band wagon. For those who are tired of seeing her on these magazine covers, I think I said before, just don’t look, it’s that simple people. And since Mariah was mentioned, the only reason that Mariah’s albums are huge is because though she can hold a note, she’s not seen as a black artist, she has a huge caucasian fanbase, remember whites are the majority in the country and they are are the ones who mostly buy her records. If it were only singing, then hell Patti Labelle’s record sales should be much higher than Mariah’s because she can sing her off of any stage. This is all driven by demographics people, which equals sales. And finally for those who “think” you are speaking so much truth as far as Janet is concerned, how fast can you say HATE? Oh I forgot, you say “truch”. As I’ve also mentioned before, you have don’t have to scream on a song to let people know you can sing. The late Aaliyah, may she rest in peace, wasn’t a screaming singer, but we knew she could hold a note. Everyone has their own style that’s all to it. Though Janet’s celebrating 20years, her entire career spans 3 decades and she’s still doing her thing.
