i thought he was like a gimmick, still do kinda, nevertheless, i appreciate the messages he’s giving, and also the fact that he transformed from gunrap to materialism…i guess..
i just absolutely hate the way the industry does things…

Everybody was on Lupe’s jock earlier this year and I wasn’t feeling dude at all. Now his album came out, and I think it’s pretty dope, and everybody else dislikes him. Go figure!
I love me some Lupe…I will be picking this up. So what I don’t care if its a man’s mag…my boy in it shoot lol.
I’ll tell u why I love dude:
1. He is unique, different, quirky, and a breath of fresh air compared to alot of these other so-called rappers.
2. Personally, most of the music I love is back in the day hip-hop (Tupac,Big, Old Jay-Z, Rakim, Tribe Called Quest, etc), old school R&B, and some off-beat sh!t I know most people won’t like anyways.
3. I now that ya’ll know I’m “A Tribe Called Quest” fan…Lupe’s style kinda reminds me of Q-Tip.
Lupe is stuck in the 90′s with rhymes that are not ill…I don’t know why when Mc’s try to be on some REAL HIP HOP/POSITIVE shyt they gotta sound like they always rocking a jansport……

Lupe’s Album is Phenominal! I don’t really buy rap albums these days, cuz alot of artists are wack and dont talk about anything. @ 19, he do remind me of “A Tribe..”.
He’s positive and you can tell he doesnt do stuff to “fit in” he does him, which I respect in an artist and will pay off for him in the long run. Hate to say it, but #6, ur kind of right, everything is a gimic and it’s all right now. Forget 5 yrs from now, 6 months from now, you won’t even hear from most of these artists again. The most realest artist, don’t hit double platinum out the gate. Sometimes you gotta work and do that climb, which envitibly is something more prefered. idk, I like his style and his album. Need more real artists like him out, cuz Rap these days is definatly not for the rational or intellectual! Hate to say it, but you have to be dumb, or dumb your intellegence to like the stuff that’s out now. Kids like it, cuz they’re still young, so their mental capacity isn’t at a level to where they realize that alot of this stuff is crap!

I like him, even if I didnt like his music (which I do) I appreciate him as an artist . Real men are not afraid to step out of the box. The fact that he doesnt do parties, drink, smoke, groupies makes me respect him as a man.

My son and I just picked up this album. My son really identifies with him and I like that he aint cussing in every other verse and that he’s no like all about hos and money. Tight lyrically too.
I love Lupe. Imma HUGE fan & everyone kno’s I think he is so cute..Im not going2 say he’s my hubby bcuz he’s not but he is definately some1 I respect highly because he is not rap conformity. He’s not a fake Kanye or Pharrell, he is in a class of his own. His style is sick, cd is beyond raw & he’s a overall cool dude.
