Last night, I attended “The List,” a party thrown by celebrity stylist, Fadia Kader and celebrity and fashion publicist Nicole Garner at the Hush VIP Lounge in Atlanta. The celebration was in honor of Janelle Monae and Scar being featured on the OutKast “Idlewild” album. It was a really great night! These are some pictures I took at the event. Enjoy!

How can “only some people ” rock hair that natural grows out they head..If black woman would read up on that draino crap called relaxer they putting on they head, they would rock they natural hair too…

  2. LAPEL

It’s so funny when those who wear there hair natural is seen as unnatural and those who wear their hair relaxed are seen as being natural. It’s terrible when you think that the hair that you were born with, the hair that is a clear attribute of being black is looked down upon. Let the brainwashed people be. I love my hair, don’t mind changing it up once in a while but to get it permanently altered? No way! Janelle you don’t need to change a thing about you. Your a beautiful and talented sister. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Peace.

Just for the record, natural hair is for EVERYBODY! How can the God-given hair that grows out of your scalp not be for you? If you choose to relax or color it, then cool…whateva floats ya boat. And,um, no one NEEDS a perm. That is like saying someone NEEDS to dye their hair blonde…meaning that if you feel that altering your hair in some way enhances your look, then knock yourself out…but NEED it? Nah….

We have GOT to do BETTER!

Janelle Monae is a beautiful woman. She doesn’t ever need to alter her hair texture for the likes of people who aren’t happy with the hair that grows out of their own heads.

Good hair is healthy hair regardless of texture. So, even if your hair is straight…if it’s overprocessed with bald spots and overgrown split ends, guess what? You have bad hair.

  5. NAPPY MAN

SHE IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN. SHE DOESN´T NEED A PERM. ALL THOSE WHO SAID SHE NEEDS A PERM ARE WANNABES. STRAIGHT HAIR DOESN´T GROW OUT OF YOUR SCALP. WHITE PEOPLE THINK THOSE PERMS OF YOURS ARE HEDIOUS. YOU WANT TO LOOK LIKE THEM, BUT YOU CANNOT. YOU ARE WANNABEES WHO WANT TO BE ACCEPTED BUT YOU ARE ALL STILL NAPPY UNDER THE WEAVES AND PERMS. PERMING WILL NOT CHANGE YOUR HAIR. IT´S STILL NAPPY. WAKE UP AND EMBRACE YOURSELVES. STOP HATING WHAT THE GOOD LORD GAVE YOU. IF YOU CANNOT LOVE YOURSELVES THE WAY YOU WERE BORN, WHO WILL LOVE YOU? HER HAIR REVEALES WHAT YOU ARE ALL HIDING UNDER THOSE PERMS AND WEAVES. HER HAIR REVEALS THE TRUTH YOU WANT TO HIDE. THE BEAUTIFUL TRUTH FROM GOD. FREE YOUR MINDS AND HAIR.

Why do yall keep sayin she needs a perm??? That’s like sayin she needs breast implants. I’m sure nobody came up to some of yall after your last perm or horsehair weave and say “ooh girl u need to go natural!” You have no right to say what she should and shouldn’t do. Don’t be mad at her because she chooses to embrace what God gave her. It’s not her fault that you are so insecure that you want to permanantly alter the beautiful curls, coils, waves, and kinks that grow out of your heads. Slavery was over almost 150 years ago. Take off the shackles.

  7. It’s a damn shame!!! Janelle wear your hair with pride woman, I’m totally feeling your funky style. If you love it, I LOVE IT TOO. Stay true to yourself no matter what people say.

  8. Mirkat

Why would apply something to your scalp that you need to wear gloves for?

  9. OG Matt Herbz

Damn, Fadia Kader is FAT, yo!
