As most of you know, Rev Run & Justine lost their baby on Tuesday. Rev. Run issued the following statement about the tragic death of his daughter to the Associated Press:
“On Sept. 26, 2006, Victoria Anne Simmons for some unknown reason chose to come early and unfortunately did not survive,” his statement said. “We must accept whatever is there and once you accept unconditionally, then everything is beautiful. Every pain has a purifying effect. So whatever comes your way, just be thankful. We see life in death and believe in the celebration of life in death.” [SOURCE]
My thoughts and prayers go out to Rev Run and his family.

I fel for them. They like part of my fam since I watch that show religiously. I couldnt wait for the new season to see how run act a fool trying to handle taking care of the baby then lil russ and diggy lol. They say every dissappointment is a blessing.

Run is a very uplifting man. His words are so positive, even in this dark moment in his life. That’s very encouraging.
if this were true….i would have seen it on mtv.com—so I am not buying this story just yet. i was just at YBF and I read the “Vanessa Simmons” myspace blogs—they were so inarticulate and basically dumb—a 13 yr old could have written them–and then they decided to close it with a Bible verse—so stereotypical since we know that her dad is an eloquently-spoken Reverend….
Weren’t her and Angela just at TI’s B-Day Bash this past weekend—yet their baby sis died just a week ago? MY CONDOLENSES GO OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART IS THE FAMILY DID IN FACT LOSE A CHILD.

I wondered if it was true as well, but it appears a statement was issued through MTV.
I agree with his statement and am touched by it. I do wish them the best as well as anyone else who has lost a child. That’s got to be heartbreaking.

I AM JUST IN UTTER SHOCK….I CAN’T GET MY HEAD AROUND IT.
i never really doubted the reports of the baby dying, however; i do have a problem with some of the details. although im sold on the fact that the baby is in fact dead, i don’t think the organs were outside of the body..mostly because in a statement made by russell (simmons) he said he did not think there was any truth to that part.
regardless of details my heart goes out to the family, especially justine. i cant begin to imagine what she’s going through right now and i HOPE that MTV doesnt hurry them into taping season 3 and or putting this story into the show. some things just dont need to be so public.

VERY SAD & BEAUTIFUL STATEMENT. HOWEVER, I dont understand why he does not realize why the PREGNANCY terminated itself EARLY? The baby had its organs on the outside of her body (according to a blog posted on here recently), medically & NATURALLY–when a fetus/embyo has “ABNORMALITIES” in the womb/uterus, the womans body detects that something is “NOT RIGHT” and as a result the pregnancy will terminate itself (in other words she will go into pre-term labor & give birth pre-term (most cases C-SECTION because it is quicker & gives the doctor a chance to try & save the baby)or if she is in her “first tri-mester” she will have a- miscarriage). The HUMAN BODY is AMAZING. It knows when there is a DEFECT in the DEVELOPMENT process-most times even before the DOCTOR!
My deepest SYMPATHY goes out to the entire SIMMONS family.

You think of all the people that have kids that don’t want them, and you read a statement like this and think, “how unfair!” My prayers are with them, I’m sorry for their loss.
