I don’t know who recorded this song first, Victoria or Jazmine, but I know that Beyonce recorded it last. I’ve been getting e-mails about this for weeks now. But I was and have been fully aware that there are three versions of this song. To be completely honest, they all sound like three different songs to me! Victoria Beckham’s (former Spice Girl and wife of international soccer star, David Beckham) version does not compare to the soulful Jazmine Sullivan’s or B’s, but upon first listen to Beyonce and Jazmine’s versions, I didn’t even realize it was the same song, but I love both of them. Jazmine’s voice just has so much soul and I love Beyonce’s delivery. The song is just a beautiful song, I can see why so many people’ve recorded.

I definitely think Beyonce’s version is better because she added more to the song, she made it her own. U can really feel her passion….Jazmine’s version is great also. She has a beautiful voice, but I think she’s just singing the song and not delivering it…
the song was written by damon dash with victoria since it was talking about how her and david’s marriage and how it was falling apart n she sang it a couple of years ago so beyonce shouldnt take credit for writing the song although she changed a few lyrics i like all versions but i like vic an jaz. version better cuz b was sreaming on hers to much she is a great artist but if she truly worked so hard she would be able to write her own songs which she doesnt and if you believe she does think again!
As much as everyone’s comments could be true, it is common knowledge that Beyonce has been writing songs since she was very young. The furthest back I could trace this song being recorded was 2003. Beyonce may have written the song a few years ago and Victoria Beckam and Jazmine Sullivan just took it and recorded it.( That makes the MOST since.)
We all know Jazzy wrote the song (& sang it best IN MY OPINION).. Beyonce is a beast but she admitted to allowing many others some creative input on this album and Jazzy is just one of those people. For both Posh and Jazzy to have the same version lets you know that Beyonce isn’t the original writer and as previously concluded she was able to get credit for the editing she did to the song. This girl is 6 years Beyonce’s junior and can write like that? Has already performed with Stevie Wonder 6 years ago at the age of 13? i think that the song most definately sounds different when performed by each of them. ive never been too keen on victoria’s attempts at ‘singing’ but i must say i was pleasantly surprised when i heard her version. she did her best and for what its worth it was classy.
beyonce, to me, has always been and will always be one of the most overrated people in the music industry. she openly allows herself to be pimped by her parents, her pr agency and even her man for monetry gain but when i hear he sings songs like this, i see a glimmer of hope for the respectable and revered singer and performer that i would prefer her to be. as far as im concerened anybody with the capabilities to project emotion in a song like the way she has, has absolutely no need to be shakin her ass n bending over on GQ magazine covers like a common vide-hoe. britney spears – definately, but not beyonce. in that respect, she could take a leaf out of victorias less talentled but slightly more classy book.
jazzy; my gurl through and through. ive been hearing about this girl for so long and every year i wait for her to break through, but she never does. her voice is beyond soulful and although she doesnt manage to evoke the emotions that beyonce did, she stays away from the one thing that hacks me off so majorly about beyonce; she didnt oversing and adlib the song to death.

Clearly Beyonce deserves a writing credit because she changed the lyrics and made it more personal. Plus when this album came out she clearly stated that this was a colaboration of many writers and many producers. She helped write most of the songs. She never took full credit for writing the complete album she always stated that it was a colaboration and Beyonce’s version was the best ofcourse!!!! Beyonce sings her heart out on this song. I LOVEEEEEE Jazmine’s version. BUT those harmonies in Beyonce’s versions are out of this word. And Beyonce gets FARRRR more virtuosic with the singing. She adds a WHOLE bunch of power, strength, and range. She’s a better technical singer than Jazmine obviously, but Jazmine has more soul. But again those harmonies in Beyonce’s version are nuts lol. Jazmine and Beyonce sang the song equally well. B’s delivery and emotions really added to the song and Jazmine’s rifts at the end were very good. Either way, the song is something that many women can relate to.

Well Victoria wrote the song because of the alleged affair that her husband had, makes more sense that she wrote the song and besides, her’s has more emotion based on the fact she went through the experience, not Beyonce and not Jazmine. Though they both are good singers, Victoria takes the cake on this one. It is her’s, she wrote it, she’s lived it, and you can feel her pain and confusion.

I think Jazmine’s was the best. Due to her voice sounding soft but powerful, unlike Beyonce’s screaming. Beyonce needs to learn from the young vocalist. Jazmine can show Beyonce that you don’t have to scream to dominate a track.

I overheard this song playing in my daughters room constantly. I had NO CLUE who sang it or what the name of the song was. Everytime I heard it I found myself liking it more and more purely off the emotion and the delivery of the song. I finally asked my daughter who sang the song and she told me beyonce. For some reason I sarted looking for information on who can write such a great song…..After all the hoopla surrounding “originality” and where it came from? who wrote it? I’ve loved Beyonce since Destiny’s Child. But honestly, this song has 2 go 2 Jazmine. Her voice is so sultry and perfect for this song. Beyonce’s voice is much too powerful for this type of song because her voice keeps overlapping itself and it’s just way 2 much. Besides, she doesn’t bring anything new to the song other than what she gives every other song she sings. When i first heard resentment, it was by Beyonce after I bought her album. I didn’t really connect to the song as much as the others. Then I heard that the song had been written for Jazmine Sullivan who I had never heard of. It was FLAWLESS!!!
