As such, we can’t always control what we hear, see, etc. Even when you go shopping, some of the stores play some crazy offensive music. Some even play the videos on little monitors in the store. However, as a Christian I’m not worried about the “spirits” some music carries. That may be a weak spot for some, but not for me. Not judging anyone, that’s just not my particular weakness. I agree with #48, many people think that music has no influence on how some individuals think or what they do and I used to be one of those people, but I saw first hand that certain things you see on videos and certain things that you hear in music will lead you to think that, that is really how shit is supposed to be. It influences young black children like you wouldn’t believe. The music back in the day was meaningful and it had a message. There wasn’t practically naked women, cars, money and jewelry all over the place. The only rappers I remember that had jewelry like that was slick rick, big daddy kane, eric b and rakim but their music still had a message.
