Black star power once again. Pretty much, everybody and their momma showed up at Film Life’s 2nd annual Black Movie Awards last night in Los Angeles. The show was hosted by Tyler Perry…and no he wasn’t dressed as Madea unfortunately.
Award-winning actress Cicely Tyson received the Distinguished Career Achievement Award, while Laurence Fishburne received the Excellence in Arts Award. Yea this is real black awards program folks, no Shawna poppin her tail here.

I’m a bit late but I have to do this….I am so excited for Presley Chweneyagae, our very own South African young star. Can you believe that he beat Denzel Washington, Cuba Gooding Jnr, Tyrese Gibson and Chiwetel Ejiofor to whisk away the Oustanding Performance by an actor in a Leading Role for his role on our Oscar winning movie Tsosti? Man…I’m so proud of the 22 year old boy. I should give him a call soon to congratulate him.
I can see from the pictures that all our black stars were all out to support and celebrate with each other. All of them look great. This is great.
