My homie Taj Washington is looking for some models for his upcoming shoot. You can check out some of his photography above or on his website. Please read the following:
I am a New York City based photographer that will be shooting in Upper Manhattan on Saturday, 11/4/06. The purpose for this shoot is for the photos to be used as submissions to urban magazines. While there is no pay for this shoot, whomever gets chosen and participates in the shoot will receive magazine tears as they appear in the magazine, a separate individual photo shoot at a later date, and the possibility to collaborate again on future projects. There will be single shots as well as various shots of the models interacting with one another, as I am creating a storyline with these photos. All clothing, hair and make-up will be provided by my team and me. All ethnicities are welcome.
Please note that all models must show valid photo ID when they arrive at the shoot, as well as sign a Model Release Form.
I am looking for the following:
MEN
5’10” – 6’3”
31 – 34 waist
18-25 years old
WOMEN
5’8” – 6’0”
Size 4 – 6
18-25 years old

Damn, im 5’7′
He wants to be taken seriously as fashion photographper. He has to take these uber thin model types that are unrealistic. I have seen these model types and they are disturbingly thin. The girls do not eat. I am 6 feet tall and at my thinnest I was size 8. I tried to model but they told me I would have to get down to 125 lbs from 145lbs. My brother wanted to put me hospital at a size 7/8. I am a thick happy size 16

i agree with the photographer if you want to do plus sized modeling or be a foot model , a hair model, a fill in the blank model you can go and try. I used to model when I was younger cause i was almost 5″7 and i have been ever since so now i dont make the height requirement for some places weight for others or my look is too ethnic or not ethnic enough blah blah. Still not everyone is doing the “dove” thing.

Do not think I have anythinga against anyone of a short stature. As I said previously, it’s industry standards. And for the person who said I have an ego and the individual that co-signed on it…that’s not the case. I am the nicest and most humble individual you will ever meet. Sure, I have my flaws (as we all do) and I go forward and improve myself every day.
Howvere, you should not wear your emotions on your sleeve because you are not included on a casting. Because guess what? Tomorrow is another day and last I checked, life will go on. If you let one incident with a casting call discourage you, then you don’t need to pursue modeling at all because when you go to those agencies in New York, Miami & Los Angeles, they will shut you down like a Chinese sweat shop. Just walk tall and be the best that you can be. REMEMBER: Eva Pigford is only 5’6″ and she is killing it out there right now, so there is hope for everyone, indeed.
