BLACK CELEBRITY ROUND UP (10.27.06)
Friday, October 27, 2006
Snoop might as well take a bus from now on, because it seems that everytime he is at an airport some drama pops off.
Snoop Dogg was arrested on suspicion of illegal drug and gun possession, police said.
The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at Bob Hope Airport, police said. Snoop Dogg posted $35,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 12.
Airport police officers stopped Snoop Dogg at a loading zone for a vehicle code violation. When officers searched the vehicle they found a gun and marijuana, police said.
“There was no basis for this arrest,” the rapper’s attorney, Donald Etra, said in a statement. “We believe that once this is cleared up, all charges will be dismissed.”
SHAREEFA TALKS ABOUT CHILDHOOD
Shareefa sat down with Angela Yee of The Cipha Sounds Effect at Sirius Satellite Radio to discuss her new album, “Point of No Return,” that hit stores this week. She also talked about her past and how she used to make money stealing cars off dealer lots before she became a singer:
I started stealing cars…It was very slick. And sometimes we would go to the lot and the keys would be in the car, in the ignition, and you just take it. Or if we took the keys off the desk, We wouldn’t necessarily know what kind of car we have until like later when we done walked off. we like ok black CLK. There’s like 100 CLK’s out there, hit the panic thing, you find the car, come back later, drive it off
BRIAN MCKNIGHT IS BACK

Brian McKnight is back with his 10th album, Ten, in stores December 5 with guest features Jill Scott and Rascal Flatts, on Warner Bros. Records. Check out his new single ‘Used to be My Girl’ produced by Tim & Bob. Get more info at THINKTANKMKTG.COM..

It’s ad to see people down play themselves to fit the “mainstream” flow of music. I’ve listened to Shareef and I like her voice, she needs to get off that kiddie shit she’s making and make some real music.
I think I’m honestly Brian McKnighted O-U-T!
Snoop is an ignorant nigger!

The fact that he is Snoop Dogg is probable cause for a cop to pull him over. If all his songs are about weed, and he appeared on the show Weeds, then that is probable cause. Next he gone say the weed isn’t his. Who the hell would believe that?

I am sorry but the way i grew up, stealing cars was not a natural hobby like the way she is making it out to be.

I’m a bit shocked that Shareefa would be SO EXACT in her description of how and where she stole cars…how does she know that the police in her hometown don’t have OPEN CASES on Mercedes CLK’s being stolen from dealership lots????
She just incriminated herself…She might want to STOP talking about it

Is it just me ……………………….or is Snoop Dog in general just another mofo “fossil ganster”, like flavor flav. I get sick and tired of these old a$$ wanna be 17 year old ganster grandaddys they put out in the media. I think snoop a f%^& joke. all that fashiszzle my dizzle bull crap makes dumb a$$ white people feel that we all down wit that type of long beach kool aid behavior.
The only reason W H I T E P E O P L E idolize black men like SNOOP (cat in the hat rhyming) dogg is because he comes across as being a total spectacle and remindes them why and education is important and a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Snoop really empowers the lame wanna be down outsider; and its that same outsider that can go back to the privilages of being in the majority population at any time.
SNOOP give it a rest on the wanna be hard imagery that your feeing the media to get some street cred. We know u aint hard……..just rich and stupid.

@#26 - Brian fell off for me when he left his wife and kids and started to date and ‘feel up’ his asian girlfriends in public and during his concerts. That ish is NOT cute.
And before anyone starts griping about the ‘asian card’ I just played. . . well never mind - I said what I said. I’m entitled to do so.

this may be a little biased considering i went outside to leave last night only to notice someone decided to take my problem plagued car off of my hands….but i dont think its nothing cute about bragging about stealing cars when you were younger…i know rappers do it all the time with drugs and shit, but that shit aint cute either….and this is coming from a female R&B singer….WTF??!!!….since when did r&b turn into the occupation for “former childhood criminals”…and why does she think that was a good thing to say….that just makes me wonder where the hell her mom was at….my childhood wasnt like that, and i wasnt perfect and very rebellious, but come on now…i dont have no love for that….you never know what chain of events you set off in a persons life when you steal their cars….or anything else….she’ll never get a dollar of my money….

Rainbow Talents

I am wondering what is happening to Blacks at the Top. It is really hard to find a true Balck celebrity. It is sad that we have lost Martin Luther King and Maclom X so quickly. I used to say that Willard Christopher Smith Junior (Will Smith) was the ideal black man, until, yesterday I read something on the internet suggesting that he is Bi-sexual.
When we look back at slavery, homosexual activities and prostitution was something that was forced on black people. It caused many blacks with strong morals to commit suicide because of how unbearable it was. It was down right wrong and unacceptable.
Now we are free and so many blacks are running into these things. I wonder what has freedom done for some of us. I could see clearly that many of us has forgotten who we are and money is now important than morals. Many balck people are dying to be white while whites are tanning their skin. Some people believe that by marrying into the white race they will become more acceeptable by society.
When I was in England I saw blacks bleaching their skin to be white. I also saw blacks joining in with a famous homosexual called Peter T and trying to destroy the popularity of Reggae Music. It is so sad that some of us has absolutley no backbone and is easily swayed by all manner of wind.
Are there any True Blacks who fits in with the principles of the ancestors left at the top of our society? Can we really boast on those who are exacted in societyand reffered to as black celebrity?
I love blacks and I get along well with white people , but I just cant see the truth and hide it.

Snoop needs to stop smoking all of that marijuana, and get his life together. He is too old to be acting like a little boy. He is bless and fortunate to take care of his family! And he wants to go back to that old life style from way back. I just pray that this world gets itself together, even when we’re blessed we still complain and get our selves into trouble…
