I’m no cassie fan but I love that song. No she isnt a great singer but the reason she is successful is because of promotion. The girl was a star on myspace a year b4 she came out. Me & U was at least a year old and still made it to number 4 on the charts so props to that. People are always talking about how the people with “the voices” never sale as much. Promote them! Buy (not download) their cds. And it’s their faults too. Promote ur damnself. I’m sorry but maybe back in the day when all it took was pretty face and a hot beat was all one needed to succeed, Cassie would have been a huge hit. But times have changed. I’m not saying that everyone is gravitating to amazing music nowadays…can you say MIMS…i’m hot cause i’m fly, you ain’t cause you not…music is definitely going downstream. But you gotta give us sumthin Cassie, I mean that girl couldn’t hit that high note on, “say you wanna love me.” Everything else in that song is completely monotonous. We all know that Ciara does not have the best voice, but that girl has the most amazing and innovative dance moves that it compensates for her voice. And I love Tamia, her voice is lovely, but she has absolutely zero charisma. Is Cassie kidding? If the girl really tried and took vocal lessons to enhance her voice, she will be seen as a music industry dream…or close to it anyway. But she can barely dance, her performing skills are, quite frankly, horrible and she can’t even hit her own notes…which aren’t even that high, for chrissake.
Practice, get better, or give it up Cassie. Let’s make room for some natural talent.
