Please. Its not that bad. You mainly heard her backing track. She had a hard time hitting that last note but not everyone can hit a high note every time. Ya’ll just gotta give her a break. At least she is out there singing with her live vocals. She is trying to get to where she wants to be. Give her time. She is young to the music scene.

Sure she probably lucked into it cuz she is pretty but if she truley couldnt sing than they would not let her sing live at all. She does sing live with a backing track. I just think people are dogging her when so many other artist never sing live (britney, J.Lo…).

She’s one of the few artist who acutally may need to start off lip-synching because she could’t even keep up with the backing track OR her background singers on TRL…and ended up being a couple beats off and looking a hot mess.

I’m not gonna attack the video because it’s a rehearsal video. Fine. But don’t come out and do a “lazy” performance that looks like you didnt rehearse at all. She’s already been overseas touring before her cd even came out…and she still hasn’t perfected her stage presence yet?

Didnt watch the video…but whomever commented that Janet cant sing,…that is beyond the point. Janet has staying power…she is a triple threat in that she is sexy, can DEFINITELY dance, and she can act (although I totally hated her performance in the Nutty Professor…that’s just cuz I preferred Jada). Her songs rank in the top list of modern R & B classics and her voice soothes the soul…she is a damned good performer and WE LOVE HER FOR IT!

This brings me to ask this question… is the entertaiment bias because when it comes to female R&B and pop artist.. talent is not a requirement… However, how many males singers out there really can’t sing? T-pain maybe,, but he sounds the same in live performance as he does on CD… so are there any others? I don’t see alot of nice looking male R&B singers just getting by with no talent at all.

I ALMOST feel sorry for Cassie. Almost- cause she’s still pretty and gets to enjoy a fabulous life of a celebrity. And most women (especially younger ones) wouldn’t have the heart to say “I can’t really sing, so no, I decline the offer. Thanks, Puffy, but no”.

I blame Diddy, the wack ass industry and wack ass consumers for supporting artists that are all production and looks, with little to no talent. Janet and Madonna can’t sing too well, but those women are entertainers, straight up! They dance and they have mad personality and stage presence. They are intriguing and fucking fierce, even in their 40s. Madonna’s just a bad fucking chick, you can’t take it from her. Her mix of raw sexuality and pop material of the day early on set her apart and her ability to change with the time and still be unique are why she’s still around. The same for Miss Jackson- plus, we loved her for being Penny, we loved her family and she came out cute as a button and grew into a sexy grown-ass woman before our eyes. And, no matter what they were doing with her voice, even with the 80’s vocal technology, she has always sounded waaaaay better than Cassie does now!

I don’t like most of Janet’s new shit, but I love that she’s still got the moves and the looks (though I wish she’d left her nose alone). And I don’t care how she got that body back, it’s on point!!! Meanwhile, Cassie is dry as toast and doesn’t even have a pretty, soft voice like Janet. Aaliyah wasn’t the best singer ever (not much of a range), but she had a very pretty voice and she was a loveable character.

Say what you will about the Janets, Marys, Madonnas and Aaliyahs, they made CLASSIC material that will get people crunk in the club in the year 2020. Cassie will be here today and gone tommorrow. Ciara doesn’t do it for me, but with some work she could be groomed in to a long lasting entertainer. But I doubt people will still be bumping “Crunk’n B” in a few years.

And yes! Beauty is easier to create than talent! Why can’t they just smack some Lipglass on these real singers and make them stars? And why the HELL do singers have to look a certian way? I don’t give a damn if someone is fine or not, I just want to hear somebody SANG!!!!

And if we feel like the artist doesn’t care, then we stop caring about the artist. Because let’s face it, there are a lot of acts out there with bad singing voices who have been successful. Hell one of my favorite R&B records from the 90s was Total’s first album and them chicks couldn’t sing for shit! But with Cassie, she seems to be going at this half-hearted and I think that’s what people dislike.

Bill i agree with you Mary j. Blidge can not sing. Her voice is raw but she is not a good vocalist at all. Madonna, britney spears, gwen stefani are all females who can not sing but still made their mark and there not getting hated on like cassie is.

I should question it, but we don’t know the full facts, well I don’t,of what happen with the Lauren Hill album. I’m not saying she wrote it all by herself. I’m not saying she didn’t do your friends wrong. I’m not saying she doesn’t have a big ego. I’m saying, you can’t include her in the list of artists who made their careers with looks, personality, sex appeal etc.

This woman has true talent which is rare and even if she didn’t write that album, and she didn’t have another hit album, she does deserve props for that album which was succesful. They may have written and produced those songs, but she performed them. She sang them. She delivered them to us. That’s why she derserves what she has.

It’s Timeless and it’s classic.
I STILL listen to it
