But now,she has been around just a little too long to still sound like this. Looks will only take you so far cause sooner or later you will need your talent to back you up and she has NONE!!!

This is just further confirmation of what we already knew! Cassie is a beautiful girl but that is pretty much the extent of it. True talent (in even the smallest of forms) carries a performer over time & gives his/or her career longevity. Cassie’s absolute lack of vocal/dance ability assures her a place on the “one hit wonder” list. & even if she manages to squeeze out another album she will meet the fate of her predecesor (can anybody say Ashanti???)

Wait a minute ya’ll are killing me. Don’t speak so harshly on things you don’t know about. First of all…the days of sing so voicestress is not what is in right now in the music scene. It is actually closer to the sexy/disco vibe of the late 70’s that is being pushed on consumers now. In that type of arena of music…you don’t need the big booming voice. That is why so many singers make those raspy unchallenging songs that Janet made famous in her prime. Cassie has the perfect voice for the style of music she does.

Now as far as the technical side that was talked about in the story…Delay is used to fill space in songs that is it. Ryan Lesile is not talking about time delaying her vocals. When ya’ll hear it you call it echo but we never use echo on vocals…we use delay. It is the same type of effect as echo but it is centered and is not as wide or drawn out as “ECHO”. That is what Ryan Lesile was refering to.

Stop knockin this girl for making the music that fits her style/voice. I will bet my home and account that Alicia Keys, JoJo, or whoever could do Cassie type songs and vice versa. That is not what their voices are made for. They all record songs that are made for their vocals. And in rehersal…THEY ALL SING LAZY just like she was when she was referencing a part. Remember everybody and their mama talked about Mary J. Blige like a dawg because they said the same thing about her for the first 4-5 years she was out. She even admitted that she had to stop being lazy when she was performing (that was part of her GROWING UP as an entertainer) and that is the samething that is being said by Cassie’s people. Didnt watch the video…but whomever commented that Janet cant sing,…that is beyond the point. Janet has staying power…she is a triple threat in that she is sexy, can DEFINITELY dance, and she can act (although I totally hated her performance in the Nutty Professor…that’s just cuz I preferred Jada). I blame Diddy, the wack ass industry and wack ass consumers for supporting artists that are all production and looks, with little to no talent. Janet and Madonna can’t sing too well, but those women are entertainers, straight up! They dance and they have mad personality and stage presence. They are intriguing and fucking fierce, even in their 40s. Madonna’s just a bad fucking chick, you can’t take it from her. Her mix of raw sexuality and pop material of the day early on set her apart and her ability to change with the time and still be unique are why she’s still around. The same for Miss Jackson- plus, we loved her for being Penny, we loved her family and she came out cute as a button and grew into a sexy grown-ass woman before our eyes. And, no matter what they were doing with her voice, even with the 80’s vocal technology, she has always sounded waaaaay better than Cassie does now!

I don’t like most of Janet’s new shit, but I love that she’s still got the moves and the looks (though I wish she’d left her nose alone). And I don’t care how she got that body back, it’s on point!!! Meanwhile, Cassie is dry as toast and doesn’t even have a pretty, soft voice like Janet. Aaliyah wasn’t the best singer ever (not much of a range), but she had a very pretty voice and she was a loveable character.

Say what you will about the Janets, Marys, Madonnas and Aaliyahs, they made CLASSIC material that will get people crunk in the club in the year 2020. Cassie will be here today and gone tommorrow. Ciara doesn’t do it for me, but with some work she could be groomed in to a long lasting entertainer. But I doubt people will still be bumping “Crunk’n B” in a few years.

Unfortunatly, Talent is not the main component in the Entertainment Spectrum any more.

A person has to be MARKETABLE to a global economy.

Hell one of my favorite R&B records from the 90s was Total’s first album and them chicks couldn’t sing for shit! But with Cassie, she seems to be going at this half-hearted and I think that’s what people dislike.

I’m sorry but maybe back in the day when all it took was pretty face and a hot beat was all one needed to succeed, Cassie would have been a huge hit. But times have changed. I’m not saying that everyone is gravitating to amazing music nowadays…can you say MIMS…i’m hot cause i’m fly, you ain’t cause you not…music is definitely going downstream. But you gotta give us sumthin Cassie, I mean that girl couldn’t hit that high note on, “say you wanna love me.” Everything else in that song is completely monotonous. We all know that Ciara does not have the best voice, but that girl has the most amazing and innovative dance moves that it compensates for her voice. And I love Tamia, her voice is lovely, but she has absolutely zero charisma. Is Cassie kidding? If the girl really tried and took vocal lessons to enhance her voice, she will be seen as a music industry dream…or close to it anyway. But she can barely dance, her performing skills are, quite frankly, horrible and she can’t even hit her own notes…which aren’t even that high, for chrissake.
Practice, get better, or give it up Cassie. Let’s make room for some natural talent.
