Karu F. Daniels (from AOL Black Voices), recently caught up with her at VH1′s Hip-Hop honors, and she even had her “stylist” in tow.
Monica Smith (pictured above with Remy), answered a few of Karu’s questions:
Have you styled her before?
“I’m from the Bronx. I used to style for ‘The Ave’ magazine and I styled for her for her album jacket.”How’d you put this look together?
“I know her. I go by the way she is. I like a lot of colors. She don’t really like too many colors. Something with a little hood to it, she’s good.”What makes her style stand out?
“The blonde with the black, I think that should just be for her. That’s her own little thing.”Where did you meet Remy?
“I’m from everywhere in the Bronx. I grew up by. . . I met her in Queens. We met when we was 12. I’m not going to tell you how many years ago that was but . . . we was young.”
Remy doesn’t like that many colors? Damn, you learn something new everyday.
Anyway, Remy is working hard on her new album, Remy’s Back. She can rap, but she needs an Oprah makeover if she wants to be taken seriously.
