Given the success and praise of two well acclaimed artists, Gwen and Pharrell, I expected a fun song that would make me put the song on repeat. However instead of repeat my mind gave the delete command. Pharrell is quite the individual when it comes to making beats which is all fine and dandy but as a professional he should now when he needs to rest and take a break. The vocal delivery is not the best. There was a comment earlier about Gwen being a better singer than Beyonce. I really don’t get why people give B such flack. She is a talented successful black female. Even though she may do some things that will not make some of you happy her talent and her voice is undeniable. Yes she may sing with a back up track but you can still hear that soulful voice of hers. Instead of criticising in a destructive manner be constructive. But back to the matter at hand. The lyrics were obviously an afterthought. They could not possibly be deliberate. And maybe its just me, but a few lines into the second verse and I’m remembering Kelis’ song, “Milkshake”. The lyrics although not identical are quite similar. All in all, it is obvious why this was left off of the first album but it is a mystery to me why it would be released as the lead single to her second album. It is not a good career move. And I along with all the other few people that were present when common sense was distributed will not be bobbing our heads to this mess. Hopefully Gwen and Pharrell will rethink this bad, bad move and bring some real heat to the table.

I can’t believe I just put myself through listening to that entire song. That was horrible. I loved her LAMB album, but this is just crap. I’ve farted better melodies than what’s on this song. The yodeling makes me want to slit my wrists. It’s a bland song, the beats aren’t that great either. Her sophomore album is going to be a complete flop if the other songs sound anything like this pile of steaming feces.

Gwen has proved in the past that she can sing, if you’ve ever seen her in concert, she does an amazing job, (songs like “dont speak” “simple kind of life” “what you waiting for?”). I dont get why some people feel that every song an artist makes has to display vocal strength.

Some of you are sayin that Gwen’s vocals suck in this track but then say that Fergalicious is way better, but Fergie doesnt show any strong vocals in that song either. A song can still be great even if it doesnt display a strong vocal talent. The style that Gwen is portraying is kind of monotone, and robotic, kind of like a “wind up” toy, which she did an awesome job with. She doesnt have to SING every song. And why is she even being compared to Beyonce? Beyonce is more like Letoya Luckett or Mariah Carey category in the style of music she does.

Her album didnt even debut in the Top 3, and her album sales have been very weak. Her songs have peaked to somwhere around #17 on the charts. And her album is not all that great. Being rated 2 out of 5 stars by most magazines and other critics.
