JAY-Z GETS STREET NAMED AFTER HIM IN NIGERIA

Friday, October 13, 2006

js1.jpg js4.jpg
Jay-Z is living it up in Africa. Just recently, the people of Nigeria named a street after him. This was their way of saying thank you, for all the work he has done with his water crisis program. There he is draped in traditional threads and kicking it with the Kwara State governor, Bukola Saraki. Lookin good Jay!

Umm he didn’t ask to have a street named after him. They did it to show him appreciation. That’s not his fault. Damn, leave the man alone. At least he’s reaching out which is more than what most rappers do.

Jay and the Nigerian government are making a profit behind all of this as well as some American water company I betcha…

Jay Z is wrapped up like a damn mummy, lol. Pic 4 almost cost me my job, lmao and I am so Jay-z’d out at the moment. It’s sad how they had to fight to make Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday a damn holiday and some companies and states still don’t acknowledge it. They JUST RECENTLY named a street after Bob Marley but Jay Z who sings about money, bitches and cars gets a street named after him in Africa ain’t that some shit, lol.

GirlBlue

Friday, October 13, 2006 /

I’m not saying that the American Government is all peachy cuz lawd knows they have some blood on their hands as well…

OK, yes, Jay is reaching out overseas more than other rappers because he has the MONEY but I’m sure he’s using this a major tax write off. As does Oprah et al.

But if “y’all” are saying that Nigeria is so “durrty” and corrupt. Then best believe, they are taking that sign down as soon as he leaves for the airport.

My friend met a Nigerian and he was trying to get her to give him her bank info and her ss number. I cannot say that all Nigerian’s are corrupt because that wouldn’t be fair but I have heard a few stories that weren’t so nice.

Dam whats with the negativity people, whether he made a profit or not (which is what the white man does, deal with people just to make a profit, including nigerians) he is doing something positive. Don’t get mad because he knows how to play the game with the whiteys. I am very proud of him, even if he is considered a camel looking dude, he still living a positive life. Instead of being another person in jail.

As a Nigerian myself I will say that money talks in Nigeria more than it does in America. The Nigerian government is one of the most if not the most corrupt government in the entire world (that’s a fact) Provisions are being made to ensure that the corruption level is brought down. As far as having a street named after him, just about anyone who puts money into Nigeria can get a street named after themselves…It’s just that easy. Jay-Z just happens to be a celeb so it made the news…

I am a Nigerian and I have to say that Jay-Z’s money is wonderful thing, lol! Yeah my gov’t is corrupt and all but at least Jay’s helping them out! Word of advice don’t do business with a Nigerian on EBay! :p What Nigeria needs is a better president who’s not looking out for his best interests! Shoot if I was rolling in dough like Jigga man I’m quite sure they’ll be quick to name a road, Church, town, etc after me as well!

It is not that serious. off-topic but still revelant: All I gotta say is why can’t someone like 2 Face or some other Naija artist give back like Ja-Z did?!?! If Nigeria’s not corrupt then why does it take a student like five years to graduate from college instead of the norm “4″ years?! And calling people names online is just childish get over yourself! IT IS NOT SERIOUS! Everyone’s opinion CANNOT be the same! Respect people’s opinions and move on…

Well Nefer, you are a lowlife NIgerian and that’s why you would think that they would take JayZ’s money to give him a street name. The Kwara governor is a young guy and is also a medical doctor (by the way), he comes from a very wealthy family…He is very progressive with everything he has done with his state,….The guy is a class act. Better recognize. The only reason why he gave JayZ a street name is just to show appreciation.

#35 Yolo ~

One minute they’re boasting about driving big cars and the next minute, you’re calling them “those poor people” WTF? Are they rich or poor?

Hell, they been trying to clean up the water in Africa longer than the Mexicican in Mexico! Just don’t drink that $#!T!

Two things you never do in Africa…drink the water and have unprotected sex. In short…protect yourself from anything wet! hehe! Water & Pussy!

Finally, the truth comes out and a few Nigerians are telling it like it is…like Bouga of South Africa! Tell the truth and shame the governor! Hell, I don’t need to gloat in Nigeria’s corruption, but I will if they insist on coming to America with all that blood money and pretending to have made it the old fashion way!

And MESSEDUP, you sound like one of the decendants of slave-traders who enjoys the inheritance of your brothers. You have a lot to lose! Stop trying to place guilt in other Nigerians! Let them speak their own mind! They know what goes on and many of them have lost family members because of your friend…Bukola Saraki! Don’t expect them to keep quiet and suffer under your threats!

The system must be exposed from top to bottom!

Developing…

What’s the matter boo boo some Black man left you high and dry with out the rent money this month. Sweetie please, do you think Blacks care what Africans think of us, HELLS NAW. We don’t even care what whites think of us so why the hell would we be so concerned about people halfway across the world.
However if you really wanna talk about people you should start with the dumb ass African men infected with HIV that rape infant girls because they believe it will cure the disease. Or how about we discuss the fact that so many men from Africa have no respect for women or themselves(if the did half the continent wouldn’t be at deaths door now).
Or lets discuss the fact that some of you have sold your children into slavery for the almighty dollar.
Lets see where shall we go next, oh okay I’ve got it. Lets talk about how the corrupt government uses their own people and can’t seem to hold on to their land for shit.
Last and certainly not least lets talk about how needy you damn “we are the world, we are the children” people are. The next time you decide to speak badly about Blacks call Oprah first and tell her to keep her money because you guys don’t need it from a sorry ass Black person. Since “you” seem to have it all figured out.

Folks, I think we’ve been bamboozled and infiltrated. After reading some of these well thought out and exquisitely written political diatribes, I’ve come to the following conclusion. I belive there are some impostors in the house and they have been skillfully placed on CL to figure out the inner workings of the Black race in it’s most basic form through controvery, humor and opinion. Here is my theory:

Blacks may not be perfect but in no way, shape or form are Africans. I refuse to stand idly by and allow anyone to degrade my people. Especially someone that has only “heard” negative things about us.
Sweetie I won’t go tit for tat with you because I have meet some great Africans and dated some as well.
I do have a question though, what did you mean by Oprah should help her “own” people? Am I to assume that because you were born in Africa that makes you better then those that weren’t. Better yet, because we were born in America are we not of African decent? Sorry to tell you sweetie but you are Oprah’s people. Just as someone of Puerto Rican heritage is still Puerto Rican, we are still African WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

Asbury some of the things you have said in a sense are true, but dont degrade africans as a whole as horrible people. Africans, wait let me breaks it down, nigerians are intelligent people. but greed and power has desperately been killing their would, me being a nigerian, i have to say, yes nigeria as a whole, the government itself is corrupt. but with the current president it ha been trying to pull itself back together. if some of you check out nigeriaworld.com i believe you can see what they are trying to do to rid of currupt powers and put in fair and good leaders.

Now of course african americans have their own problems too, but so does someone in ever race. we cant be having those damn cat fights about who race is better than the other because we all have flaws we all have our own individual problems. theres a ton of thing i can name that i believe black [AA} people can work on what africans can work on.

#34. shut that shyt up. real talk. yeah i know there are some things africans despise bout african americans but that dont mean shyt. most of the nigerians that come here to look for a better life like any foreinger, but so DOES MANY OTHERS OUT THERE YALL. of course there are going to be some bad ones coming in to do whateva possible illegal to get what they want, but not all.

Oprah spends millions of dollars to help people across color lines.

When I read this post all I can think of in the words of Paul Mooney, “THANK YOU SLAVERY!” :-(

Sweetie, slavery messed up your life. You deal with the effects of slavery everyday and you may not even realize it. I feel special to come from a country where I am not a SECOND CLASS CITIZEN, where the president is a man my colour…I have a culture that is my own and it has history that dates back to B.C. period.
