Because, that’s who’s staring; the main characters. I am really excited for Beyonce because this will be where she really shows her actin’ chops!!! I am for sure going to see this film. Just to see all those beautiful black ppl acting simotaniously in one featured film is phenomenal!!! I would love to see more films like this

The trailer works best with just the headliners, but Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Hudson from American Idol are the other two gurls!

I can NOT wait to see this film. It’s going to be my Christmas present. I’ve been DYINGGGG for it. It was my desktop for a hot min. I wish i could have heard “AIATY”, Jennifer Hudson’s interepretation before it got pulled.

Jennifers name is on the poster, It’s at the bottom credits. So is Anika noni Rose’s name. Jennifer’s name is not highlighted because this is her first film role. It’s all movie politics. DOn’t worry though, once the movie comes out it won’t matter who’s name was highlighted on the poster. Jenn will get her recognition.

I’m really looking forward to this movie! I love these big budget musicals and it’s always nice to see our people doing the damn thing. As far as Beyonce’s acting chops go? While I’m sure there are plenty of other black actresses who are far more talented and experienced than her who could do justice to the role, she’s a big name and that’s what sells. It might suck seeing black acting roles being loss to rappers and r&b singers, but hey at least it’s better than loosing it to Angelina in black face! Lol
I’ll reserve my judgment for when I see the movie. Even if Beyonce doesn’t act well, I’m sure she’ll look fabulous and the performance scenes w/ be off the hook!

Beyonce is truly good in this movie. I am not just saying that. I got to see footage of the girl acting and she has really stepped her game up. You all got to remember this is not being directed by some nickle and dime person. It’s BILL CONDON, an Oscar award winning director. He will not just let any old shit fly, he was in the back of the Imperial theatre when DREAMGIRLS debute don Broadway in 81′. Beyonce had to audition for the part something she nver had to do with her othe rmovies. Bill didn’t even want her in the movie but she impressed them at her audition. For once put your bias and your hate for the girl aside and look at the larger picture.Can you just give the girl the benefit of the doubt. If we don’t go support this movie (positive black movie at that) than what’s the epoint of people complaining about their not being enough positive African-American movies. There’s no gangbanging or Niggas or any of that. It’s just pure drama, great music, beautiful costumes and lot’s of fun. What’s os wrong about that?

#35 you are not the only one who sees that Bey can’t act!! Trust me, you hit that right on the head. She acts worse than Lisa Raye and her ass can’t act. Maybe since Bey had an acting coach for this job, she will do a little better, but I really doubt it. At least I know she will do great with the singing parts.

no really, i’ve been anticipating this one for a minute. beyonce better not disappoint. i already sold her album back to the wherehouse (what?! it wasn’t my payday weekend- i needed the money!!!) but what’s up with the silhouettes?! i thought jennifer hudson was a lil thick?! sigh…….superficial a** hollywood.
I just looked at the trailer (not the intro, skip that) for Dreamgirls on Dreamworks’ website, and the movie looks like it will be okay. Of course, there is a scene between Deena and Effie (Bey and J.Hud), and umm…I’ll just say umm. Regardless, I will support it.
The movie poster does look very generic; perhaps the movie studio will release different posters before December. However, I understand the movie poster–portray Dreamgirls as a movie with universal themes FIRST, and a predominantly black cast SECOND.
I just hope people don’t prematurely compare this movie to Chicago or Rent. But then again, Renee Zellweger was no singer, and wow did she take Roxie Hart to another level (what intensive training will do for you). I’ll leave it at that so I won’t draw a false analogy since I only saw clips of the movie.
