Because, that’s who’s staring; the main characters. I am really excited for Beyonce because this will be where she really shows her actin’ chops!!! I am for sure going to see this film. Just to see all those beautiful black ppl acting simotaniously in one featured film is phenomenal!!! I would love to see more films like this

I’m really looking forward to this movie! I love these big budget musicals and it’s always nice to see our people doing the damn thing. As far as Beyonce’s acting chops go? While I’m sure there are plenty of other black actresses who are far more talented and experienced than her who could do justice to the role, she’s a big name and that’s what sells. It might suck seeing black acting roles being loss to rappers and r&b singers, but hey at least it’s better than loosing it to Angelina in black face! Lol

Beyonce is truly good in this movie. I am not just saying that. I got to see footage of the girl acting and she has really stepped her game up. You all got to remember this is not being directed by some nickle and dime person. It’s BILL CONDON, an Oscar award winning director. He will not just let any old shit fly, he was in the back of the Imperial theatre when DREAMGIRLS debute don Broadway in 81′. Beyonce had to audition for the part something she nver had to do with her othe rmovies. Bill didn’t even want her in the movie but she impressed them at her audition. For once put your bias and your hate for the girl aside and look at the larger picture.Can you just give the girl the benefit of the doubt. If we don’t go support this movie (positive black movie at that) than what’s the epoint of people complaining about their not being enough positive African-American movies. There’s no gangbanging or Niggas or any of that. It’s just pure drama, great music, beautiful costumes and lot’s of fun. What’s os wrong about that?

no really, i’ve been anticipating this one for a minute. beyonce better not disappoint. i already sold her album back to the wherehouse (what?! it wasn’t my payday weekend- i needed the money!!!) but what’s up with the silhouettes?! i thought jennifer hudson was a lil thick?! sigh…….superficial a** hollywood.

I just looked at the trailer (not the intro, skip that) for Dreamgirls on Dreamworks’ website, and the movie looks like it will be okay. Of course, there is a scene between Deena and Effie (Bey and J.Hud), and umm…I’ll just say umm. Regardless, I will support it.

The movie poster does look very generic; perhaps the movie studio will release different posters before December. However, I understand the movie poster–portray Dreamgirls as a movie with universal themes FIRST, and a predominantly black cast SECOND.

I just hope people don’t prematurely compare this movie to Chicago or Rent. But then again, Renee Zellweger was no singer, and wow did she take Roxie Hart to another level (what intensive training will do for you). I’ll leave it at that so I won’t draw a false analogy since I only saw clips of the movie.

There are ratings that all artist are judged by, which compares them to other successful artist and Beyonce, at this stage of her career is on the same par or above the people I mentioned! Sometimes a laymen like yourself only sees the legacy after it becomes history! As a member of the entertainment community, I have the distinct privillage of seeing history in the making and watching it with awe rather than with envy like common folks!

She’s 5 star just like Mimi and Madonna! The only thing that can derail Beyonce as one of the greatest entertainers in the history of mankind, is Bee, herself! If you can buy stock in Beyonce, you’d be a very wealthy person very soon!

It’s a CGI image. The inspiration for it comes from one of the silhouetted rear shot images of the girls from the “Steppin’ to the Bad Side” number in the film. Apparently they chose to create a mirror image so all 3 girls look the same.

But of course you all will come to your own conclusions so carry on.

I will pass on this one and wait until I hear the reviews or other people I know tell me it’s good.

This will be excellent b/c of the script and the singing I don’t expect Beyonce’s performance to be wayy different from her other movies. She’s somewhat comfortable in one type of role…like DMX. When I watch this movie it wont be because she is in it.

Beyonce sang “Look to Your Path” in French at the 2005 Oscars and because I am part French, Indian, Latin, Tiawanese, Mong, German Sheperd and Zulu, her rendition of “Vois Sur Ton Chemin” reminded me of a time when I was a young child growing up in a romantic French city called Cap d’Agde’s…the naked city!

Ah…I love the French name “Beyonce’”! It means “beyond what I say”!

#65 take the time to listen to Dangerously in Love the way she sings that song is weird in my opinion. Jennifer will kill Beyonce singing! Hell it’s not hard for anyone to kill B she screams when she changes octaves she’s a str8 alto trying to show a range that she doesn’t have! I’m sick of everyone saying listen to Dangerously in Love like that was a beautiful song that no one can sing but B. She’s an ok singer but she is far from great and far from being a fantastic soulful singer! And she’s had a vocal coach that used to listen to Rachelle Ferrell who Beyonce couldn’t sing like if she tried on her best day, had her tea, a ricola and lemon juice! She makes her voice tremble and shake too much trying to do the Donny Hathaway sound which not everone can do. She runs wayyyyy to much, and she has no control over her voice! Hell I should be a vocal coach! lol lmao! No matter how hard B tries she’s not a soulful singer PERIOD! She’s a pop singer! Christina A will put a hurting on her singing now if she would’ve sung Dangerously in love then maybe it would’ve touched me. When B sings it it’s like ehhhhh ok no soul whatsoever! SORRY CHARLIE!

Kitten I think you need to see Beyonce in concert, the gurl hits her notes. It’s fine for you to have your opinion, but don’t try and talk negative about her voice cause you know the gurl can sing. (Maybe you know how to sing but not quit like Beyonce, so it feels good to you to talk down about her voice…. It’s okay girl)

Beyonce is 1 out of the 5 good singers that are big right now AND the rest are underrated and gets no love from the public.

Appreciate it, or change the channel when you see her running across the stage.

3) doubtful it’ll get nominated. sorry. i’m not buying the hype.

I saw the Dreamgirls trailer last night and Beyonce “rocked it”! Trust me, Bee will dominate this movie as does Eddie!

Jennifer Hudson sounded good, but a little over-the-top singing “And I’m Telling You”. It was a stretch for her! She’s got the range and runs, but not enough “gospel background” to preach! You gotta get real ulgy to “sang” that song and she’s not quite there yet!

She’s tries to sing it like J. Holiday and that’s a big mistake! I think Fantasia would have put her own spin on it!

i have read everyone’s commit about this movie and everyone has their own opinion and no one has the rigth one. I just wanted to commit on the last one. Jennifer Hudson is from the church. she sang with her father and her brother as a quartet. she does has the range and tude to do the song. Jennifer Holiday sang the heck out of the song and so did Jennifer Hudson. Fantasia would have had the song in a lower register because she cause not hit those notes. Jennifer Hudson’s version is in a higher key than Jennifer Holiday’s also. I think we should support the movie because of the talent in the movie. The group of people we have in this movie is off the meter and i am looking forward to seeing a group of talented blk men and women bring such a legend of a play to the big screen. I think no one will be disappointed with this movie. The costumes and the music are all really good.. so check it out, Jhud is off the meter in the movie… Oh thre is Ocsar buzz on the movie and particularly in JHud.. they want to nominate her for supporting actress…

oh Kitten Christina will smash Beyonce…. vocally she is off the chain.. Beyonce’s problem is herself. she is a good performer, but sasha comes out too much and kills beyonce’s over singin but. B is a hot chick in the game but yet and still she is one of the over rated one’s also…..

That movie was a very good movie and the spotlight is not just on beyonce and she is a good actress i feel beyonce have haters hahaha me to but yea that movue gave everyone to shine and jenny was vey good in the movie that girl can blow
